Steem Making Moves To Start The Year

When 2017 came to a close last night, Steem was hovering around $3.00, but it's a new year! Now Steem is making some serious gains in the first day of 2018. It makes me happy!

First let's take a look at how the price of Steem is responding in the new year.

To me Steem is one of the most sound cryptos in the game. Not only does it have an actual function, but thousands of people have adopted it and use it daily through Steemit.

Most of the over 1,300 coins are just based on white papers and ideas, while Steem and the Steemit eco-system has built a growing community that actually has real value on the Internet. 

Notice how much the volume jumped to start the yar, that is awesome. It is really great to see Steem over $3.50.

What about SBD?

As you can see the volume and price of SBD has gone up too, and now rests over $8.00. SBD has a very limited supply and as more people get engaged with the site and more people need SBD in the future to launch projects on the Steemit blockchain, the price should continue to go up. And that is great for all us Steemonians.

So far, granted it has only been a couple of hours, Steem and SBD look to be doing great. I'll take it. This is a great way to start the new year and reward all the wonderful people on Steemit who spend tons of time writing blogs and commenting with others.

It's a good start, but just the beginning. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year for Steemit.
