For the past year I have watched yt start making changes to their platform and how they deal with content creators and the drive has been hard to force every channel into a nice tidy box of "Family Friendly" content, the demonetization was their next step and their claim of advertisers were calling for the changes have not proved to be the truth (out right lies on many).
Another aspect they rolled out with content creators and what ads were shown violated their own rules of "Family Friendly and the only step a content creator could do to object was change their tags and/or remove monetization all together.
I see a time coming where it will just get to be cute kittens because anything showing real life will get the video pulled (seen several of these done) or faded out to the point it never hits the algorithm at all.
I am looking forward to the future here at steemit where it can have the full videos kept on blockchain platform.

I agree with your bonsai! I don't think I want to put any more apple crumble recipes on youtube!!

I found Steemit because one of my favourite bloggers, @gregorymannarino shifted over here. I've noticed a big difference in the type of videos suggested for me on YT, not because my interests changed but as a result of bloggers disappearing.
