That's right Youtube is 13 years old. That means people were on youtube in 2005. Did you hear about the site in 2005? Did you hear about it 2010? Eight years ago I don't recall it being a big deal. But now it is one of the biggest sites in the world. There is this misconception that sites pop up overnight and become the next big thing. Now while I do think there is a tipping point when something becomes popular this is usually years of a site being out before this happens.
Why am I making this point? Because steemit is only 2 years old. That is 2007 in Youtube terms. There is still lots of growth to go and this site can be a viral sensation. It can even be a few more years before this happens. And maybe one day you wake up and steemit is everywhere.
That being said the site won't get there by itself. There is a lot of work to go. We need communities, changes to the voting system so the power is spread out more and a plethora of other features. Plus we need people like you to post and grow the the site. But don't get discouraged, steemit is young and has a lot of room to grow.
YouTube I heard about it in 2011
Steam is a more successful site than YouTube because Steam sends profits to bloggers
Really great location
I do not like YouTube because it exploits subscribers

Yeah Youtube grew so fast.
But i think that it's now trying to die down because the bad ad revenue that they give to the video creators.
Making videos full time is not as easy as people think.
Quality youtubers still take 2-4 hours to record the videos (maybe more)
they take really long to edit about 3-10 hours (depends on the video lenght and the difficulty of the video) (it can definetaly be more).
so what i am trying to say is that youtubers can't just go on with this. so they will start looking for new places to upload theyr content at.
That is where DTube should come in and start advertising really well.

Very true, Steemit as youtube, are pages where we learn a lot, although it is very uncomfortable that the publications on YouTube come out at all times. We must put effort and dedication so that steemit can surpass youtube.

I remember using Youtube since when I was like 10 years old, and I'm 20 now.
Hopefully, I'll be remembering Steemit after 10 years(I'm still using Yt, so hopefully Steemit will be here in 10 years).
I can't doubt Steemit gets big.
Crypto is getting bigger by the day, and I believe that this idea is unique in crypto.
Also, Steem has the most transaction out of all currencies.
That's got to mean something.

Indeed, you are right. Steemit still in its infancy and wonder what it could bring to early adapters 10 yrs from now if they keep on being active in the platform.

Although back then only a few people have access to the internet making a sites growth slower compared to today. The problem today is people don't like change, they would always prefer what they are used to (i.e Facebook and Youtube)

What I consider real, is that in the continuity of time this social network continues to grow progressively and gradually, that the value of the fiat and digital currency is significantly increased, that more Hispanic communities and other regions of the world, that are continuous contributions and theoretical-practical proposals, technological support tools, created by human talent, with great capabilities. I bet for the continuity of the Steemit transpolation, from the online context to the off line, from the planning, organization and execution of programs, projects, plans and activities aimed at creating social, technological and economic value, with scope and benefits for The interested parts. It is, then, to advance, progress, improve based on what has been done well, but can be optimized.

Even more impressive is the state of the web in 2005 was nowhere near where it is as now. Internet connections are faster, everyone has a phone in their pocket that can consume media on YouTube and other sites. I think YouTube really began to grow when Google purchased it.

The age of YouTube always reminds me of the great market timing it had. It wasn't the first to have the idea, but it came at a perfect time when broadband was widespread enough so that we could all stream video!
