I've had an excellent day and so has Steem.
We hit 1 million accounts created! Whoot! The first Million is the hardest and takes the longest to hit.
Hitting a million accounts is a fact, what it means is open to debate. No matter what these accounts are or what they will do they are proof that there is interest in Steem Accounts. Some of these accounts are likely end-users and some of them might be scammers, spammers, or squatters as the critics have been quick to point out.
I worded my statement carefully for this reason. A million accounts have been created and no matter what they are for, I think it is a measurement! It is also a fact. If I said we have a million users, that could be false.
I would say that hitting a Million Accounts means there is Interest. let's consider them 'warm leads' for now and see how it pans out!
I'm going to celebrate anyway!!
On this important day, I also was a guest on The Steem Experience, hosted by @richardcrill and @seablue. Normally, @battleaxe is part of the show, but unfortunately she wasn't there today, due to a personal appointment. The experience was fun and got me thinking about many things relating to steem, steemit and the future.

That's a solid miletsone to pass, it should only pick up steem from here. Hopefully it becomes a bit more streamlined and user friendly so the newbies not only sign up, but also stick around longer

I hit one year today and I also noticed we hit 1 million accounts. If I remember right we are between 60 and 70k active users. All of this compared to a year ago is a great accomplishment. Through all the drama and the forks. Missed the show but I will have to listen when I get home.

It's a cool number, but we know only around 6% of accounts are active. I have to wonder what all the rest are for. Steemit will be very different when there are a million active accounts

this is remarkable indeed. I signed up around a week ago. I'm astonished how little "spam" and scammers i've crossed so far. I've been looking for alternatives from the current mainstream networks - and I'm glad I landed here. The value and quality of the post I'm seeing is beyond what I've found anywhere else so far!

Yes, attainment of million user is an great Milestone, and yes we cannot call every account as an end user but, as we can see in an Economy, there are many types of people, but they are still part of an particular Economy, same way Steemit is not perfect but, we are like an whole Economy moving with both pros and cons.
