After the recent debate on multiple accounts and sock puppets, I learned it isn't frowned upon by the SteemIt community to have multiple unverified accounts. Well, who doesn't want to have a sock-puppet? So, I created a new email address using gmail.com, and I used that email to create a new facebook account. However, when my new sock-puppy account tried to sign up for SteemIt, I ran into some problems. It was impossible to get help from "outside" the SteemIt community, I asked on the SteemIt FB page. Even in several chat rooms.
Since that has failed, I still want to do two things, create/use a new Steem Account and invest at a very small level.
I would like to purchase an account for somewhere around $50.00 paid via real money on paypal.

In order to register with a FB account, it has to be verified on FB. The only way to verify is to link that account to a phone number. So, unless you have multiple mobile numbers, you won't be able to do it.
If you just want another account, you can get one for much less than $50. I think @anonsteem can get you one for somewhere around 10 SBD, I believe

Okay thanks for that info. Steemit didn't seem to require a verified account awhile back when I added the second one, just a separate FB (which reqd a sep email for FB, which I legitimately had, because of owning several real domain names, yada yada yada). But when I tried to open a third just as an experiment Steemit's bots said the FB account (now) needs to be verified. Thanks again for the good info.

Thanks I'm wanting to add a third myself (just for investing also), and it doesn't count my third FB account as validated yet. My second is a non-profit and genuinely distinct legal entity so I was open about it from the beginning - @ancientofdays - and it didn't get flagged. Thanks @whatsup for letting us know the community is generally okay with it. Does anyone know if upvoting back and forth between my two accounts will eventually get flagged? I decided not to, but man, there's so much "gaming the system" going on here that is allowed ...

Interesting, I have seen the whales commenting on Bots, multiple accounts, unverified accounts. From what I have seen it is pretty much universal.
Just look at the voting on Trending articles. There is no problem with voting accounts.
