Even if it is a smart concept, I think it is too complicated. Not for you of course :-)
I think if Steemit is supposed to be not restricted to nerds, but for a very broad mass of people, security enhancements need to get much simpler.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    Yeah, this isn't as ideal as having 2FA on chain, but it's a good stop gap for now. And it also has the added benefit of protecting all of the other accounts you use with your password manager.
