Finding It Hard To Grow On Steemit? Here's How..

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

If you're new to steemit or been here a bit and feeling frustrated joining a community of like minded members is the best way to meet people and get noticed. Here's how:

On the main steemit page you see Topics displayed. These are not just to give a suggestion of descriptions to your post but are forums in their own right. Clicking on them will take you where all posts that have been tagged, doesn't have to be the first one, will appear. At the top the categories of Home New, etc will take to such of each forum. You will find many of the same posters regularly here, get acquainted by upvoting and commenting on their posts, most will respond and might follow you, the more you do so the greater the odds increase they will follow you and read, upvote and comment on your posts. Commenting is the MAIN way to grow here, unless you're one of the fort few to bring a large following with you.

There are also other popular forums not listed in the Topics list, different nationalities such as RU for Russia, filipino-trail and christian-trail which is the main christian forum here, also christianity. Look around and experiment with different tags to find any other, just type in the name after the slash https://steemit.com/. If anyone wants to add another that they're active in feel free to leave it below.

@Minnowsupport is content neutral and will upvote your posts after joining.

Join and participate in the Chat room. It has different channels devoted to specific topics, many post here and you can also usually leave links to your posts on them (not sure if all do the one I participate in allows it).

Best wishes! Do the above persevering and your odds of doing well here fast will significantly increase.

I see you're a christian, christian-trail will help you here, God speed bro.

Commenting is the MAIN way to grow here, unless you're one of the fort few to bring a large following with you.

Absolutely true! I had no following coming in. I've only posted a few dozen posts, but hundreds of comments. Two months on Steemit and approaching 600 followers! Not boasting, but encouraging other young steemians that you can gain followers by commenting. But remember: NEVER request for people to follow you, or arrange mutual upvoting schemes. No one likes that. @ironshield

Very true.

Thanks you @wilx for the useful information for growing on Steem :D
I followed you, upvoted to see your next awesome posts :)

Glad was helpful, welcome to steemit, following back :)

I think it really has to do with the mentality of every person who joins here.

  • Build network first, or
  • Make money first

There are difference in 2 approaches, where the first pace is on a slower but stronger solid network of future, but the other, it is more of the "hit and run" thing.

I have observed the behaviour of others to know who are genuine content creators and who are just shallow (and maybe "counterfeit") content creators.

It makes a huge difference!
