If Steemit wants to meet its mission, it needs much stronger user base. Without a user friendly interface, similar or even better than facebook and else, this open social media platform may not reach its goal.
I wish Steemit had planned a contest among its current user base in order to select the best futuristic user interface for its platform.

I am happy with the user interface, but feel they should change the index page, when logged out. That could be more attractive for new users. Though its more about content and advertising.

Steemit is the counterpart to reddit, and not facebook. But since it's all opensource, it's very likely that a facebook counterpart based on the steem blockchain will be developed sooner or later. You could start it! ;D cheers
