Why does the value of a post continue to rise even though I'm getting no new upvotes?

Three or four days ago, a comment I made was upvoted by 12 people and resulted in ~$13 in revenue. However, as I have been waiting for the comment to reach an age of 7 days to claim my rewards, the value has grown to over $16. I have double checked and nobody new has upvoted the comment, so what gives?

I have noticed this happening to some of my other posts and comments as well.

It's like Facebook where you get likes but at the same time, views exceed the likes. These views show that your post is being read and therefore the value increases.

I was wondering this myself. I was curious as to if..the people that upvote us, if their Steem Power goes up during the pre-rewards period, does our revenue for our contribution go up as a result? I'd love to have an explanation for this, but I'm not complaining about my articles gaining worth over time!

If the people who upvoted your comment, has increased their Reputation during these 7 days, their upvote will be more worth it.

I'm not certain, but I think you will notice a change in the value of a post because the value of steem is constantly changing. As steem goes up, the value of your post goes up. It can also work in the opposite direction if the value of steem goes down.
