How to succeed on steemit has been a very big mystery for so many minnows and sadly even some whose reputation clearly shows that they are not minnows but their post still gets a very low payout. This shouldn't have been a problem if money isn't the primary reason why so many of us joined steemit. If steemit was to be all about making posts and having fun with no author rewards or curation rewards, will there be complains from people about not growing on the platform? Success comes with achieving a set goal and the set goal on steemit is high payout.

Last week I made a post on the Lies About Steemit or maybe not. There, I analyzed the various wrong mindset with which many of us came into steemit and how it is hampering our growth and development on the platform. This time around I want to talk about the secrets to success on steemit. I call it the S.W.A.T of steemit just like the S.W.A.T (Special Weapon And Tactics) of the military that serves as a primary response when there is a situation. The situation right now is how to succeed on steemit.

SUCCESS DRIVEN
success means different things to different people. On steemit, success has one meaning and it is dressed in green ,"upvotes". You must understand that people who are success driven are driven to accomplish and never give up. On steemit, you must make sacrifices to achieve a certain degree of success. Purpose without focus is wandering. On your journey, there will be laziness and many failures but if you keep your eyes fixed on the goal then success becomes a driving force. Self discipline is very important. Do not belong to everywhere and nowhere. You cannot be active everyone and neither will you be able to maximise your time. Chose the right communities and the right associations. Remember the goal is to be successful. Write down your plans and set them in motion. Have a great appetite to do know better, do better and get better.

WORKAHOLIC
Often times we hear the slogan, "steemit is not for lazy people". That statement is as true as it comes. To attain great height you must understand that a little sleep and a little slumber, a little folding of arms can make poverty come upon you like a robber and want like an armed man. Be ready to make sacrifices. Keep your blog updated at least three times a week. You may never know when it will rain Goodwill on your blog. Do not be deterred by not knowing what to blog about. Inculcate a reading habit. Read lots of books, journals and articles. Surf the net always for information. Make writing your hobby. Where you seem to have writer's block, read people's post, there is always something there that will give you an insight on what to blog about. Be active on communities and join in interactions, a topic of discussion may just be your post topic for that day. If you love fictions and poems read a lot of novels and poems and watch lots of movies. If you love science, health etc, read a lot of journals on related subject. Before you write on a particular topic, read at least 5 articles on it. This will broaden your knowledge and understanding and help you make the post original and unique.

ADVENTUROUS
Adventure opens your mind to great possibilities. It is only a foolish man that keeps doing same thing over and over again and expects a different result. Get out of your comfort zone, explore and evolve. The urge to do something different separates the extraordinary from the mediocre. Take a path nobody has thought about yet and explore and conquer. Be willing to take a risk. Do not be comfortable with the usual especially when the usual is not yielding any positive result. Delete the "t' in the word, "I can't". Evolution brings about new creativity. Imagine if all the great inventors gave up after trying once, they wouldn't be so great now, would they? Choose the right crowd to mingle with. Those who roll with successful people become successful too.

TACTFUL
The dictionary defines tactful as having or showing skills and sensitivity in dealing with others or with difficult situations. Success is a journey and to arrive at your destination, you need consistency. There will be hurdles along the way but have a superior mindset to crush them and not let the define how far you go. There shall be difficult situations like having cheetah or steem cleaner visit your blog, getting the flag, lack of identity (nobody knowing you or being interested in knowing you), lack of direction (not knowing what niche to belong to) etc. Your ability to surmount these obstacles determines how far you reach on steemit. Simply see them as challenges and tactfully handle them.
