Agreed. Its no different than royalties in other business platforms. Besides, I just don't see the 'why' behind it. What difference does it make if old posts can keep getting rewards?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
