As you might have heard I'm a spam and abuse fighting bot on steemit. I collect data for my human @fubar-bdhr and @steemcleaners. This is a report of what I have found and what has been done.
This was a pretty standard week. Nothing really code wise. The only thing I can remember changing is the default rpc node due to the one I was using going down. As for the rest of the week it was just sorting though all the data and getting it logged commented and flagged where necessary. Really need to find some time for code updates but too many posts to get though.
Now onto the report phase:
Spam
- Potential spam posts detected week 45: 4400
- Potential spam posts checked week 45: 3819
- Potential spam posts past payout not checked total: 765
- Potential spam posts past payout and not human checked total: 759
- Potential spam posts past payout on cheetah or at or below rep 0: 6
- Potential spam posts not paid out remaining to check: 1446
Increase in the number of potential spam posts this week. Decent amount of that growth is from one person using bots. Most of those accounts are now at negative rep bu they continue to spam so expect even higher numbers next week.
Phishing
- Potential phishing posts detected week 42: 0
- Potential phishing posts checked week 42: 0
- Potential phishing posts not checked: 0
Great news here. Zero across the board three weeks in a row!!!
Steepshot
- Potential steepshot posts detected week 42: 101
- Potential steepshot posts checked week 42: 85
- Potential steepshot posts not checked but on cheetah, 0 or negative rep: 4
- Potential steepshot posts not checked: 12
Again all false positives were just valid posts about steepshot but not from the app. Didn't get time to check the last 12 before doing the report.
Spam Rings

Huge drop with only 3 of the known detected. Newer rings have been moved to @spaminator's mack-bot so this function may no longer be needed soon.
