The order for 1000 Steemit BJJ patches will be placed tomorrow morning. I will order 500 of each color scheme. The patches will be used to promote Steemit at BJJ competitions. Sponsored fighters will be given the patches to wear on their jiu jitsu gi. Patches will also be for sale to competitors, and used to spark conversations about steemit.com, and why the jiu jitsu community needs to come to the platform.
You will also be able to order patches here on Steemit and pay with SBD. Details on that will be released once I receive the first batch, and nail down the ordering and shipping process. And remember, you do not have to do jiu jitsu to wear this patch! Stitch it to a cool jacket, your gym bag, your beach back, jeans, or a cloth purse! You'll still be getting the Steemit name out there and look great doing it!
The patches are soft woven patches, and are 5 inches in diameter. The first patch uses the classic Steemit colors, and the second one is blue and white. The next batch may also include black and white.
Why Woven Over Embroidered?
Woven patches work well because they are light and thin. They are great on jiu jitsu gis, as well as any garment or bag.
If You Compete, Promote Steemit! But, Remember Patch Placement.
I'll have updates very soon. Until next time :)

@jiujitsu Of course! I was going to suggest something like that but obviously you were already one step ahead ;-)
I would proudly wear a Steemit Jiu-Jitsu patch on my gi, for sure, I am up for helping to grow our community. I also like the idea of this being available to everyone interested in the sport, not just the ones already practicing.

Thx @irime! We'll make sure you get one to wear :)
I think it's a great idea for those who do jiu jitsu to wear one. But, just adding it to a purse, or gym bag, or jacket may spark a conversation with someone in passing. "Hey, I do jiu jitsu, what's Steemit?" That presents the opportunity to meet new people and to explain to them what Steemit is and how you use the platform.
I also am working on a deal to set up vendor tables at jiu jitsu comps to sell the patches, as well as hand out promotional materials to competitors, academies, and parents on why they may be interested in Steemit.
The profit from patches will hopefully be enough to continue paying for vendor spots if needed. However the deal I'm working on may actually get me some access as a vendor for free (More news on that once it's finalized). Some of the profit will be used to purchase more steem power so my voting power can help jiu jitsu and mma related posts (I already bought 1 btc worth of SP), but we need a jiu jitsu whale to support all the new jiu jitsu posts we hope to attract.
Long term, I may be able to expand into tee shirts, rash guards, shorts, etc. It would be pretty cool to see Steemit logos everywhere. I mean there is also potential to use steemit as a platform to hold its own jits tournament.
Thanks for your comment. I hope that my work and investment in this account really inspires others to go after the jits community. We already have a presence on mainstream social media, it's time to bring that presence to Steemit :) this platform will be great for academies and students alike.

Thank you sir! I'll let ya'll know when they have arrived. I gotta figure out the best way to price them, since shipping all over the world varies. I'll probably just accept the initial cost in SBD or Steem with email addy in the memo, then email the balance for shipping, specially if outside the US. The good thing is the packaging is light and small if you are only ordering a small amount. I'll figure it all out soon. I think the patches take 7-10 days to produce.

Looks great! People will definitely be asking about Steem if there's a bunch of fighters wearing these patches all over the place.

That's the thought process. Jiu jitsu and mma are staples in main stream social media already, mainly thanks to the popularity of the UFC. There has already been some cross over with digital currency and mma. A few fighters have been sponsored by alt coins. Firas Zahabi is a Canadian MMA coach, most notably for coaching UFC superstar champion Georges St. Pierre. The Canadian government recently shut down grappling tournaments in a few Canadian cities, and that impacted Firas Zahabi's grappling tournaments. Being the smart man he is, he skirted those laws by letting the competitors fight in their local gyms to complete the tournament. The winners were paid out in Bitcoin and Dash. Spectators to the YouTube live streamed tourney were also given bitcoin addresses to tip fighters.
I am using this account to do outreach to the jiu jitsu community, and eventually the mma community. Martial arts like jiu jitsu can be expensive for training and gear, and also involves a lot of travel. Many academies and instructors have a presence online and sell merch, DVDs, subscriptions, etc. Steemit would be a great platform for that business model.
And, of course, fighters wearing Steemit patches and logos, promote the platform. Match made in heaven.
Thanks for the comment and upvote @heymattsokol. I love your vlogs and music :)

Sorry being silly but just want to understand how this is related actual Ji-Jitsu of any form of martial arts. Is it any technical or just a batch.

I don't understand your question. These are patches that you sew into a jiu jitsu gi top, or pants. They will be given to jiu jitsu fighters who compete and I will make posts with interviews and coverage of their matches and jiu jitsu progress. I will also be assisting anyone in the jiu jitsu community with signing up and learning about Steemit, and digital currency in general.
As far as anything technical, if you mean will there be actual instruction, yes. I will be releasing videos, as well as working with others in the jiu jitsu community on more technical instructional posts on Steemit.
Consider this account to be used as outreach to attract and educate the jiu jitsu community. I also have already purchased 1 bitcoin worth of Steem Power so that I can upvote and have a positive impact on posts related to jiu jitsu and mma.
