The "PEOPLE OF STEEMIT" hold a GOLDEN KEY to change the lives of MANY in an ENDLESS CYCLE!

in steemitbloggers •  7 years ago

This is going to be a relatively long one -
so if you are short of attention span or fncks -
then just stop now ;)

In a couple of days, I will have been a member of the Steemit community for one year. I have come a long way in this time, but in the grand scheme of things, I am still very much a “nobody”. No, technically I am not a red fish or a minnow – I am a dolphin, which is still a hell of a long way from being a whale or even an orca but even getting this far has been a journey which has required copious amounts of persistence. Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed every minute of the journey – but aside from the amazing people I have met along the way and the fun we have had in terms of engagement – the journey of “establishment and content recognition” here has been bloody tough!!! - And I have had MANY hands helping me along the way... which kind of makes you think a little about the rest who DON'T have that, doesn't it...

Well I sure as hell hope it bloody does! lol

I used to write a lot more for myself and my blog, but these days I denote a lot more of my time to trying to help those around me with curation initiatives – not only for my family within the @steemitbloggers discord walls, but for complete strangers too… well, the ones making a true effort here at any rate. Focusing on these curation posts has meant that I spend a lot more time nowadays scouring the Steemit feeds looking for good quality content to support. And lately, it has really gotten me thinking about the behaviour of many people on the platform.

I am not worth much here, I mean at this point – my 100% upvote at full VP ranges between 75 and 80c but you know what… I SHARE IT! I share it in my post initiatives, I share it on other people’s posts and I share it in comments.

Isn’t that kind of the point?!!?!

Steemit is a SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM! and much like the “like” button on Facebook or the “heart” button on Instagram and twitter – the upvote button is there to show appreciation to blog posts created or responses given and in the same breath, the resteem button is there for that same purpose - appreciation and support.

Yes, there are many people who use both of these functions very generously and efficiently but to be quite frank – the people who are extensively generous are MOSTLY people stuck in the middle somewhere like me, or the people who pretty much have nothing to give - and the sad reality that I am becoming aware of, is that it actually stays that way for a BLOODY LONG TIME for many, whether they create amazing content, comment generously and genuinely or not! This was one of the reasons why I started my Steemit Bloggers server – so that good quality doesn’t continiously get lost in an abyss and so that it gets adequately supported via upvotes and resteems. I am very happy to say that the method which we have implemented within this community has been enormously successful, but the reality slapping me in the face is that we can unfortunately not have everyone on steemit as a member…

So what does everyone else do to get somewhere?

Yes, there are many communities, but in my opinion, the buck should not stop at the door of the Steemit Discord communities. Yes, there are amazing folk like @curie, @sndbox and a multitude of others doing what they can but again – there is a limit to the amount of people they can support too - much like I am also limited with my curation ventures to some extent.

My point?

There should be a LOT more support given by those individuals on the platform (whales, Orcas and Dolphins alike.) who actually have a little clout! It is simply ridiculous how the efforts of so many in terms of content creation and even more so in the commenting sphere DONT get reciprocal support by the people they are offering it to. Yes, the individuals content or comment should "appeal" to you first and foremost, but over and above that - there IS something called "teamwork" and beyond that a concept referred to by the expression "one hand washes the other".

For those that are curious as to where they stand in terms of the foodchain... you can find that out on the latest post by @steemitboard HERE

Moving along...

As mentioned, I do a lot of blog browsing and the other day, in response to one of many comments I made, I got a comment upvote from a user who’s doing pretty well on the platform in terms of SP – probably close to me in that respect and even better in terms of SBD... Well I am assuming that the weight of their wallet must have made it challenging for them to toggle that upvote scale even slightly to the right because they managed a whole 1% which generated something resembling hot air. Lol! Now, I ask you with tears in my eyes… WHY BOTHER!!!! - Either that, or they don’t realise that their generosity in terms of upvotes does NOT come from their wallet and gets replenished anyway… however, with their ranking I would be rather concerned if they did NOT know that by now – but seriously, I just don’t GET IT! That vote serves absolutely NO purpose, so why even give it?! - It is a little bit of a slap in the face really, especially when it comes from someone who you can clearly SEE has a lot more to (potentially) give.

On the same evening, I received another upvote for 1% which was worth approx. 35c which is a lovely upvote – well, I think so anyway but even STILL – if you can vote 35c at 1% then you have the power to TRULY change the lives of many people on this platform! And in assessing that vote... you are telling me that this individual upvotes 80 – 100 people a day to equate to one 100% upvote (SP dependant)? Well no, they don’t vote anywhere NEAR that amount from what I could see, so my issue is WHY are they not spreading their ability to love around Steemit a little more?! Why not give a few SUBSTANTIAL votes per day – not to me necessarily (although that wouldn’t be argued either haha), but to people who could really use a boost!

Is it because there are no fncks given? Or is it because all their VP has already been expended on themselves ;)

I think we all know what the answer is in the majority of cases…

And then the worst of the worst are those that no matter HOW MUCH you religiously support them, they don’t ever even acknowledge your existence here on Steemit… I have a few wonderful four letter South African Afrikaans words for people like that – but let’s keep this post PG shall we ;) lol

This entire SYSTEM is designed with the purpose of sharing your VP and yes, you DO need to be responsible with it, otherwise you will wither it away to nothing very quickly and yes, this is a lot more challenging for those who have less than 500SP and cannot toggle their upvotes, but if the people that CAN do that, weren’t so bloody SHNOOP with theirs, then perhaps some of the people here who really DO add value to this platform would reach that upvote toggle promotion a little sooner and then be able to return the favour to others smaller than them too.

It’s a ripple effect people… NOT COMPLICATED!!!

Like I said, I am not really worth much, but I manage to support approx. 20+ people a day at around 15 – 20% in terms of post upvotes at a value of approx. 15 – 20c each, and then one or two at 50 – 100% - then add to that the comments that I support daily too and last but definitely not least, the people which I resteem… And I do this virtually EVERY DAY – with the exception of the occasional day here and there where I have gotten carried away and need time for my VP to replenish.

Operating like this allows me to support many people daily whilst still keeping my VP between 75 – 100% so that my votes DO actually count for a little something…. Oh and on top of that, yes – I support my own posts too… (shock, horror, shock!) I mean hey, I need to look after myself too – and I quite like my content ;) lol – but seriously, nobody can point a finger at me for not doing whatever I can, wherever I can to boost the people of this community… so boohoo to anyone who has a problem with that! Hehe ;)

But the fact remains, that this is NOT being done by enough people with the power to do so – and I think that sucks balls!

One of the primary objectives of decentralised systems is to create "freedom from chains" - and this means that many people are beginning to shift direction, giving of themselves (as well as their hard earned money) to this forward thinking avenue - in the hopes that they can change their lives in terms of being stuck in the system of 9-5 monotony, thus affording them a better quality of life. Say what you will, but if 99% of people were TRULY HONEST - they would admit that this was one of the primary reasons for their presence here.... all the additives are AMAZING, but everyone has hopes, dreams and goals in life ;) and the Steemit platform was designed to enable precisely that!

So, in my humble (or not so humble) opinion - depending on which way you choose to swallow everything I have said... people need to start waking up to the fact that we are all connected - we are all one! The people squashing systems which we have all been indoctrinated into can only ever TRULY lose power, if the masses have it within their hands - and in order for this to be achieved...

WE ACTUALLY HAVE TO HELP ONE ANOTHER!!!!!

……

Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

Oh... you are also from this month (steem anniversary ) :D It seems that all the super cool bloggers joined steem at the same time :D :D :D

Happy birtHday in advance ;-)

And don't say

I am still very much a “nobody

You are YOU and that's the most important. You do what you love and you empower people.

I turn mad when I see people buying bots / invest money on steem / have rich friends to upvote their post then get visibility and then " Become famous, become someone " No no no... you (and me, and all the hard worker / blogger on . this plateforme ) ARE someone.

And probably that we will never become a whale (because it's a too long way to go and even with writing everyday it's impossible). But we are us, and we are happy to share our stories :)

Also about Sharing VP etc... it's a very complicate story.......... :-/

@roxane Such a beautiful comment!!! Thank you! I appreciate your generous and heartfelt words very much, so thank you hon! And yes, we will keep on, keeping on ❤️

As for the voting... I know its complicated and I probably understand very little of it in the grand scheme of things, but I do understand and can plainly see that a LOT more can be done ALL round by EVERYONE thus making it a game changer!

Thanks for stopping by and for your support.

Much love to you xoxoxoxo

❤️

@roxane ❤️❤️❤️

This is too much love stooopp @jaynie 😂😂😂

@roxane never too much love ❤️❤️❤️

@roxane we could go on like this for years hahahaha 😎

June party! Time flies.

What I appreciate about the steem platform is that it encourages openness as a default. Such an important message when division is the norm in many places around the world.

Passionately argued and helpful post, @Jaynie, thanks. Didn't know about the Steemitboard, so very useful for that alone. It's difficult to imagine anyone arguing with anything you say, though how many will be persuaded by your appeal to reason and community spirit is a different question.

I'm all in favour of active curation but as yet have neither the power nor the time to make as much of a contribution as I'd like. I'm sure plenty have good reasons for not doing as much as they could, along with the more selfish types you describe, who are here for they can get out of the platform. I'm aiming to get going soon with content production - I'm building up a little stockpile before starting to post - and at that point will throw myself into Steemit for a month or two in the hope of getting at least the glimmer of an idea that it might be possible to develop an income stream on here. Since my stuff will be research heavy and I'll be aiming to post daily it remains to be seen how much I'll be able to do in the way of curation. The answer in a case like that case is delegation I guess, though to be honest I don't really understand it as yet. What I feel the need for is a sort of 'Manual to playing nice on Steemit' where all such info is gathered in one place, rather that scattered across multiple posts and videos.

Anyway, even though your post isn't really addressed to someone in my position, it kind of pricked my conscience and maybe it will make a few bigger fish thing twice too. Let's hope so, because if we don't all hang together we'll hang separately, that's for sure.

@gussiefinknottle so very true!!!!!!!! and yes indeed.... lets hope so... Thanks for stopping by and for the great input!

Shhhht,, I almost ran out of fncks to give. 🤢

I did read enough to get me through, aside from the centered text; your style of writing is captivating. Held me long enough to find this gem:

One of the primary objectives of decentralised systems is to create "freedom from chains" - and this means that many people are beginning to shift direction, giving of themselves (as well as their hard earned money) to this forward thinking avenue - in the hopes that they can change their lives in terms of being stuck in the system of 9-5 monotony, thus affording them a better quality of life. It's true the vast majority of us is here for a better future. I believe Steemit's greatest quality is being an educational tool and that's more important than generating passive income.

The algorithms aren't perfect, nor are the bots but they keep greed in check and that's a huge leap for innovation and content creation.

Cheers 🍻

@donald.porter hahaha!!! did the centre alignment make you dizzy?
lol - well... I am a gemini and I like balance...
so I centered this comment just for you too lol ❤️

Nothing in life is perfect and that is fine,
but... people have the power of choice -
and in respect to this particular piece...
can make a huge difference here!

Thank you for the lovely comment and for stopping by.

Did you make it to the end? 😎

The centered text helps with the 'feel' or 'ambiance' in your writing. Yes, I did make it to the end...

I'm still dizzy 😵... j/k 😉

@donald.porter woohooo 👍 and thanks for the compliment.

This is great -

One of the primary objectives of decentralised systems is to create "freedom from chains"

And your stylings - alignment and quotation - are on point.

Well, I have noticed that less and less rewards are given out as time passes. Everyone is either choosing to delegate their SP to bots, use their VP on themselves, or join the flag war and waste VP. I think interactions are going to decrease if this continues, because for most people it's simply a waste of time to post anything. You can put in 10 hours to make a great post, but nobody will upvote it, because of the current situation on this blockchain.

@trendo a sad but VERY accurate insight! However, I am one of those die hards that believes in making positive change happen... and you know what... even if I am only able to make it happen within our #steemitbloggers walls at the end of the day - it will not have been a waste and would certainly be better than no change at al!

Thanks for the awesome input
MWAH!

I'm glad there's people like you who try to make this platform the best place it could be!

Read the whole thing and enjoyed it. Upvoted it and added $.01 to your payout. Hahaha. Thanks for great content and appreciate the resteem you gave me a couple days ago. Heres to the bigshots giving us all little shots!

@curtross hehehe thanks and it was my absolute pleasure!! 😎👍

Love this post! Yes, I find it annoying especially when some who can adjust their votes adjust them so low that I still don't get anything from it! (Or maybe just some dust...) What's the point of that?! I can't wait until my SP is high enough that I can spread more than dust around, but that's not where I am yet. (I'm grateful that I can give my 2 cents worth now. :-) )

Anyway, so glad to have come across one of your posts. I will be watching out for you from now on!

@viking-ventures Thank you for the lovely feedback! And yes, it is always a wonderful thing to give back to people. I hope you get to that stage of SP SOON! 😍 Thank you for stopping by and for the support. 😍

What I don't get is how people find the time for it all. I've all but given up on ever making anything on this platform and the minute I do I usually give it away to someone who touched my heart in some way.
I'm not even a fish, maybe a large plankton or even a small shrimp to add with cocktail sauce to have with a IMG_20180608_171440.jpg...finally found place for that picture...
Blah, blah, blah. You're not a nobody to me but rather a blessing or a friend to encourage to be more. I've read of the past you've had, the cards you've been dealt... Amazing we are still alive if not for stubbornness alone. I suspect God loves us and has some sort of master plan that we are not even aware of....or maybe it's all just nothing, but sharing a little love along the way definitely helps so thanks for that. I'm rambling and tired so I'll bid you goodnight. Be well.

@spozone AWESOME looking cocktail!! hehe Glad you found a use for it lol! Thank you so much for the lovely comment and your very kind words about me as an individual... it means a lot to me. As for the platform... don't give up the ghost on us hey 😎 All good things take time, but... it would be great if more people shared this perspective and actioned the change 👍

YES! I loved reading this. I couldn't agree with you more!

I also checked out your little guys page :) My kiddos accounts just got approved a few days ago. I will make sure they visit @judethedude too! his monster truck video was too cute!!!
My vote is worth dust...but it's all yours xo

@mumma-monza hahaha thanks for the wonderful input and thats so awesome that you have also created an account fir your littles 😍 Drop by and give their handles when the accounts up an running ❤️ and thank you for the support. It is much appreciated, always! Lovely to "meet you" 😍👍

Honestly, I never even thought about voting for myself?!?!?! That's a real thing? Hey who would've known. Well this is a great post and deserves my and others votes.
I have felt this whole issue. Convinced a few sibling and people onto the platform, because they are the writers or photographers with great conent to share, yet, they often get disellussioned by the 0.01c they earn on the effort that they put into their content.

Thank you for speaking up on this matter.....if the content can be good, and the people around interested in 'sharing and caring' then everyone can win here!

BTW, still trying to figure the 4 letter word out....nool? drol? tjop? doo.....ok enough of that LOL

If you're a nobody on here, then oh wo is me!!!

hahahaha @ the four letter words.... I think I shall refrain from sharing any of those hehehe 😎 but thank you for the lovely comment and for taking the time to read this. Yes, when the person making the vote has the ability to offer more, it can be very discouraging - and much like i said... A bit of a slap in the face to the content creators... but I do hope that the people you have brought over will persevere... as well as yourself.

As for the self voting, yes... very much a thing and I am not ashamed to do it at all.... someone has to care about me, so who better than me lol!!! 😎

Well I'm a new farmer just trying to get started after leaving the corporate world....so this is frankly my only income until the lands start producing veggies I can sell (about 2 months away still).
What is that quote about the chicken and the pig, that one is involved and the other is committed when producing food.....well that's me now LOL

@towjam hahahaha well I wish you ALL the best on your steemit journey!!! 😎❤️

Hello @jaynie as always an excellent post, in truth none (I include myself) is not 100% sincere with the votes, it's not bad that you vote yourself, as you say you should also think about you, but it bothers me to see a large account that makes 3 publications a day and vote the same in each 100%, let lose the rest of the vp, the 20% recharge each day at least spend the rest in helping and you have 30 comments from your followers and some interested, but it is not even able to collaborate with 1% with them (I understand that they can not help everything, but with supporting those who most need it is sufficient), a lot of the whales must learn to support people with talent and creativity, that's what to grow eteemit and therefore their accounts, they must understand that whales need small fish, it is the same relationship as in nature if in the masr there are only whales, they are kings of the but without fish or planton, they do not have what to eat and starve, let's get to the same point In steemit, the boraz appetite of the great whales can be the destruction of steemit as a self-sustaining platform.

@oneherrera the fish and minnows - to the whales are what we would refer to as "bread and butter clients" in the business world and yes you are absolutely right... they DO in fact need them, but few of them realise that! There is MUCH power in numbers and if they lost all of them, they wouldnt have any further growth... but sadly it takes forward thinking to grasp this, which largely seems to be lacking.

Thank you for the lovely comment and for stopping by 😍

Three paragraphs, enough love to newbies and tight slap to many eastablished people here. Wish some of the heavy weights of Steemit might read this golden advice cum suggestion cum instruction cum order.

As relatively, i know absolutely what you are talking about and how sarcastically you explained the cruel nature of those people who plays with their VP with minnows.

And finally you know being an Indian who comes in the list of may favorite cricketer ..It must be ABD with such lovely human being and I am not wondering you are a South African...

All the best for your effort and hope things may change one day and even mine..

Stay blessed..

@angelro thank you very much!!! And yes, I am South African 😎👍

Thanks to you, I am also approaching my first anniversary, but have yet to get to having my VP worth anything, so I indiscriminately vote and comment. I don't understand it all - perhaps I never will.

What I am trying to come to grips with is the re-steem: I would like to qualify my re-steem. I look at some people's blogs and it's only re-steems. I want to know why? I like the idea of curating, but as you point out, it takes time to trawl for posts and it also takes time to put the post together and takes away from what one really wants to be doing: writing.

Similarly, my feed is to use @lynnecoyle1's expression, is a mess. I don't know why I followed some of the folk and I don't want to read all their posts. I want to read and comment on what interests me. So, like you, a post about my first year on Steemit is brewing and not sure what it will come out like.

I like the collegial and collaborative approach which, as you probably know as well as I, has been both a strength and a major weakness in my life, so the principle of caring and sharing and supporting is one I completely endorse. It cannot be done indiscriminately, thought, and one needs to make choices, supporting like-minded folk and when appropriate, taking issue with others - in a way that it constructive.

That said, great post - many very salient points.

Finally, a HUGE thank you for getting me here and for starting @steemitbloggers - a fabulous group of people.

You ARE somebody and you should be VERY proud of what you have achieved.

@fionasfavourites Thank you!!!! I am looking forward to hearing your anniversary post hehe!! cannot actually believe it has almost been that long already! Many people upvote and resteem as the more that post earns, the more they will benefit in SP rewards - and SP is really the secret of it all in my opinion. Without SP of any decent value, you cannot do a whole lot.

As for the content feeds, yes - they are a mess and that is because (i think anyway) there is the possibility of earnings and when there is money involved in ANYTHING there are always a million and one chancers - which sadly, then subjects us to all the CRUD that floats down the steemit feeds. As for the people you follow... if you dont like what they are doing, then simply unfollow them. No need to subject yourself to that kind of torture hahahaha!!!

Thank you for the lovely comment ❤️

@jaynie ok, that helps with understanding the re-steem. Maybe I should start an account dedicated to re-steems? And yes, I have started unfollowing people. And muting them.... 😆

And as for the comment - only the truth! 😍

hahaha @fionasfavourites! It still is lol!! One of these days...

Mine too...@lynnecoyle1! Hahaha! As you say, one of these days...

I do my best to support the artists on steemit whose work deserves it. My vote isn't worth much, but I feel we rise as a group of creative people if we all support each other. And I love to see everybody's new work. The people who upvote my work are often other minnows with an exception from time to time. Hopefully we will all hang in there, just because the dynamic exchange between us is fun, even if not particularly lucrative. There is some real talent on Steemit.

@kathleenscarboro there absolutely is!!! I could not agree more. The gems I stumble across are REAL GEMS!!! and I love that! Thank you for sharing your thoughts 😍

Yes it is the only valid reason to participate. It is a shame the gems have to be unearthed by our efforts but if we keep emphasizing quality content, maybe we can raise the level of the entire forum.

The rules behind Steemit are set up to incentivize the kind of behavior you are calling out here. The white paper claims that micropayments don't work, because paying even a small amount to support content requires too much cognitive effort. It then goes on to claim that Steemit upvotes don't suffer from this, because the upvoter is not paying--the payment is from the blockchain's reward pool. However, since you vote conveys a certain amount of that future reward and since voting power is limited, upvotes are essentially micropayments. Plus, my understanding is that the more upvotes, the more it splits the reward pool. As a result, from a purely economic perspective voting for yourself and minimizing votes for others makes sense. The FAQ is clear about the impact of other votes on payouts: "If other posts receive more upvotes, the potential payout of the post can go down."

All that said, you and many others are working to help others here, but to really help, the economic rules need to change. My understanding, though, is that it is (1) not easy to convince the powers that be to change those rules; and (2) not easy to actually figure out how to change them to achieve some desired change in behavior without introducing other means to game the system.

Great post... and I'm proud to be part of #steemitbloggers @steemitbloggers

@toddrjohnson I agree 100% with everything you have said, especially regarding the powers that be... as for the other stuff - I am no guru when it comes to the technical aspects, but do understand what you have said and it makes complete sense... but even more so you closure. As for the #SteemitBloggers - we are thrilled to have you with us and yes, a truly fantabulous bunch of people ❤️

Thank you for your lovely comment and for the wonderful compliment towards our community.

Great post @jaynie! I even read every word! LOL I totally agree with what you are saying. Thank you for all that you do! You've been helping so many of us with your encouragement and inspiration. You've built a truly supportive community.

@rwedegis aaaah thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I feel this 100%. I’ve been on Steem for about as long as you, but I’m still a minnow. I’m always sick, so it’s hard to regularly create content, and I have a hard time with coming up with content to create. A year in and my account is worth $16 lol. But I don’t really care I guess. I come for the amazing content and hope I can contribute something at some point that people appreciate.

@oregonog As long as you are enjoying your time here! That is what counts above all else... you could be earning high and hating it... and that would be a recipe for disaster anyway 😂

@aftabkhan10 hehehe indeed!!!! 😎

Good, with steemit makes it easier for people to be creative with their writing.
👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏💓💓💓

So much this, yes. Like, it would give me so much joy to drop big upvotes on people! I can't imagine not wanting to if I could. Personally I feel like I miss out on half of Steemit because I don't have Discord (my only internet is a Kindle, and it's not in Amazon's app store). People who I never -or almost never - see post are apparently there all the time, and you can't join any groups or sometimes even contests without it! I wish people would use Steemit Chat. But really, I wish they would interact here on the platform.

Yup, that was a long one! lol

It' all very true. One of the things I am becoming more aware of is the difference of being active on discord.
I have no interest on being in chat rooms, which I know is a major negative in terms of support for content on steemit..

It is the reality of things, but for someone like myself (and many others I would presume), you are fighting an uphill battle against the very active 'networkers' on discord...

Whine over. Good post!

What to say, what to say... it's your anniversary tomorrow, so Happy Steemversary to you! Our community is richer and brighter for your being here!

I always have fncks for you, my dear! (I hope that didn't come across as creepy and weird...!

And having fncks to give (in general) is ultimately what this site is built on, even if the infamous White Paper might suggest otherwise.

I'll tell you a quick story... I ended up here because a Farcebook friend and I were having an ongoing conversation about basic income; he shared an article with me — NOT about Steemit — that happened to be written on Steemit and I started thinking this was a cool gig. NOT because "I could make money," but because it was centered on the core idea of a "gift economy." Pay it forward. What's more, pay it forward at no cost to yourself.

This place has changed quite a bit in the 18-odd months I've been here... and really, not all of it has been good. The many idealistic voices backing a fairly broad "We're going to change the WORLD!" belief seem to have grown softer; quieter... silent, even. The influx of "as goes the world, so goes Steemit" thinking seems to have grown stronger.

I pretty much agree with everything you've said here (Imagine that!) and I believe there's still a strong core group of some thousands... maybe as many as 20,000(?) active participants who still hold true to the gift economy idea. And we just have to persist and stick together... and occasionally bring one of the early adopters back into the fold.

I have never been big on self-congratulatory milestone posts... and determined that my next one would come (probably in a few months) when I reach my next milestone... one that NOT many people ever mention... which is when I will have (manually, I might add!) given 50,000 upvotes since starting here (I'm just shy of 47,000 right now) because that's a meaningful metric to me.

I'm not as active as I have been, sadly... I still have to work for a living (drat!) and that seems to consume ever more of my time. But that doesn't stop me from believing that we have a bright future here, in terms of creating a better world for all of us. AWAY from all the hamster wheels and cages.

If everyone was as giving as you @jaynie, this would be a much different platform, but from what I can see, there's givers and there's takers, and there doesn't seem to be too much middle ground.

It is something I do not understand either! Even people like myself, with very little SP of my own, can give and interact and help others. We all are in this together, so the fact that many 'bigger' folks don't do the same is a mystery. I've been on the receiving end of a 1% vote and have thought the same...why bother?

Thanks for the great post and for all that you do for everyone :)

@lynncoyle1 ❤️ and thanks for your input hon. I really hope more people catch a wake up lol 😎

people need to start waking up to the fact that we are all connected - we are all one! The people squashing systems which we have all been indoctrinated into can only ever TRULY lose power, if the masses have it within their hands - and in order for this to be achieved...

WE ACTUALLY HAVE TO HELP ONE ANOTHER!!!!!

Bingo!!!!!!!!!

But when the masses gain the power they need to act as Sensibly and Joyful human beings. Because if they don't behave RESPONSIBLY then it's going to be a big mess. That ain't going to be cool.

I have noticed the same thing @jaynie, whales are giving each other reciprocal votes all the time instead of distributing this amongst those that really need it. Just have a look at the "trending" posts, its the same people every day, and if you leave a comment you get 0.001 vote! what is that???? I feel they should not be allowed to do that, but how to stop it. They are clan, gang, mafia whatever you want to call them at the top that don't give a hoot about anyone else. I must admit I am getting a little tired of all the effort I have put in and am just not getting anywhere. I am seriously considering just investing some money and leave it lying because I seem to be wasting my time here, spending hour after hour keeping a Server going (just like you) posting numerous articles every day and unless I use bots for small amounts the payouts are worth peanuts. Its easy for me I have some money I could invest and just leave until steem value picks up, but what about those that don't have this option and were hoping to make some money on the sideline? Many people have written and complained about this very issue, but sadly it seems to fall on deaf ears.
