What are YOU Grateful for TODAY? - #GratitudeTrain No. 34

in steemitbloggers •  6 years ago  (edited)

As some of you will know, Thursday nights are probably my favourite week day night (excl. possibly Friday lol) and that is because my mom and I alternate dinners every Thursday. One week we go to her and she cooks and the other she comes to us and I cook. It is always a great evening of catch up convo and red wine of course haha!! Today, we are doing it a little differently because Jude has been ill, so my mom offered to bring the food and cook it here. What a treat! I don't have to go do any shopping, or cook! Yayness!!!

Sometimes it is the smallest things in life really... isn't it! :)

Welcome to the #GratitudeTrain No. 34

Today I am grateful for the amazing relationship I have with my mom @lizziesworld. I am grateful to have been blessed with a mom that expresses unconditional love to all her kids and always has done and I am grateful for the fact that I get a day and night off! Thanks mom :)

What is the purpose of The Gratitude Train?

......

I am of the firm belief that the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis is the key to shifting our lives in a positive direction. This is not only the expression of gratitude for the positive things in our lives, but also for the challenges which we are often faced with.

But sometimes, we can get wrapped up in our day to day existence and agenda, and it is not that we aren’t grateful, but rather that we simply forget to actually verbalise it or take the time to offer it a moment of dedication even in thought.

It is also true that surrounding yourself with the positive attitudes and mind-set of others, that it has a ripple effect on yours too…

So for ALL of us, including myself, I have decided to start this #gratitudetrain. We all spend a good portion of our lives here browsing through our Steemit feeds, so why not build a positive habit in the process. I think it will be great to share something every day that we are grateful for in our lives, no matter how big or small it may be.

Whether it is a new career path, a new hobby, an achievement of your child, a new relationship, a challenge overcome or simply a new pair of shoes… it doesn’t matter! There is without question… ALWAYS something we can take a moment to be grateful for!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

......

Step 1.
So starting today, in the comments section of #gratitudetrain post No. 1 – write something that you are grateful for in your life and start it with the number… as in if this is the first time you are sharing on the #gratitudetrain, then write the number “1.” And then state what you are grateful for.

Step 2.
Keep a record of your #gratitudetrain expressions shared in the comments somewhere in a word doc or such.

Step 3.
When you reach 30 – then publish a post on your own profile and be sure to use the #gratitudetrain tag or to tag me @jaynie in the post.

As simple as that!

The idea of this being, that not only will you develop a healthy and positive habit but at the end of 30 days when you share your own post, you will be able to reflect back and realise, just how MUCH GOODNESS there is in your life!

Hi @jaynie

No. 2 – I am eternally grateful for the gift of poetry in my life. Whenever I am feeling unbalanced I can always rely on the act of observance and mindfulness in writing to bring me back to my center.

Ha ha, so much so that I wrote a post all about how I get spiritual nourishment from writing today which was extremely rewarding on a personal level.

Great motivational post jaynie. Love it :-)

YES... moms are simply the best! I know I wouldn't have gotten through many obstacles in my life without mine.

I am grateful for my newborn nephew though he's still in the incubator for several reasons, I learned that being healthy is the best things to have to be able to enjoy this present time and share it with others.

How are you @jaynie.. you're such a lucky daughter to have a mom who loves you and also a friend.

aaaah!!! What a family blessing!!! Congrats!

Mothers are our no.1 supporter and sometimes our no.1 critic but she's our all around fan at all times :) My mom is 83yrs old and I thank God that she's healthy and strong and helping me to look after my son with special needs.

That is so beautiful @diosarich! What an amazing and strong woman your mom is!

Moms are awesome. ❤️❤️

#34 - Today I am grateful for the incredible generosity of our landlords. Every year, they plant amazing vegetable gardens, and every year around this time, the "Veggie Fairy" visits and leaves homegrown goodness on our porch. A few days ago we got our first gift of broccoli, and we got another couple of bunches tonight! 💚
