The other day I was having a conversation with my mom about starting to give my son Jude more daily chores around the house to assist in further developing his sense of confidence in standing on his own two feet and being able to do things for himself. Yes, he is a very capable little boy, but being an only child, in many respects I have spoilt him and this has (I think) in some ways had an adverse effect on his levels of self confidence as in other manners he displays quite a few character traits which lead me to believe that he is not quite as confident as people may perceive him and I think that when kids are given responsibility in their lives, it builds that idea of "I can do it" - rather than "I cant do it" or "someone else can do it for me".

Thankfully, Jude actually quite enjoys being given "adult" tasks to carry out and is therefore quite enthusiastic and I also know that I can trust him to do things properly. I am very blessed!

Welcome to the #GratitudeTrain No. 40

Today I am grateful that I have such a competent, capable and mature little boy.

What is the purpose of The Gratitude Train?

......

I am of the firm belief that the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis is the key to shifting our lives in a positive direction. This is not only the expression of gratitude for the positive things in our lives, but also for the challenges which we are often faced with.

But sometimes, we can get wrapped up in our day to day existence and agenda, and it is not that we aren’t grateful, but rather that we simply forget to actually verbalise it or take the time to offer it a moment of dedication even in thought.

It is also true that surrounding yourself with the positive attitudes and mind-set of others, that it has a ripple effect on yours too…

So for ALL of us, including myself, I have decided to start this #gratitudetrain. We all spend a good portion of our lives here browsing through our Steemit feeds, so why not build a positive habit in the process. I think it will be great to share something every day that we are grateful for in our lives, no matter how big or small it may be.

Whether it is a new career path, a new hobby, an achievement of your child, a new relationship, a challenge overcome or simply a new pair of shoes… it doesn’t matter! There is without question… ALWAYS something we can take a moment to be grateful for!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

......

Step 1.
So starting today, in the comments section of #gratitudetrain post No. 1 – write something that you are grateful for in your life and start it with the number… as in if this is the first time you are sharing on the #gratitudetrain, then write the number “1.” And then state what you are grateful for.

Step 2.
Keep a record of your #gratitudetrain expressions shared in the comments somewhere in a word doc or such.

Step 3.
When you reach 30 – then publish a post on your own profile and be sure to use the #gratitudetrain tag or to tag me @jaynie in the post.

As simple as that!

The idea of this being, that not only will you develop a healthy and positive habit but at the end of 30 days when you share your own post, you will be able to reflect back and realise, just how MUCH GOODNESS there is in your life!

I woke up feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the self-publishing/marketing stuff I'm trying to learn to see that I'd been chosen to be featured on the curie author showcase. I was blown. away. I have found so much encouragement here that I never really expected and it has been amazing. This was the kick in the pants I needed to keep at it, even though all of the behind the scenes learning stuff isn't always that much fun!

That is AWESOME @eroticaban and I am glad to hear that you kept your head about you! Sometimes, the "SLOG" that goes on behind the beautiful end result is NOT at ALL fun, but that is why it reaps the reward that it does!!! (But you obviously know that! ;) ) And congrats on the @curie showcase!!!!!

I'm grateful it's Friday, it's payday, and I just finished paying all my bills. And to top it off I haven't even picked up my check for the week. Life is good. God is good. Everything is good. Good, good, good.

hehehehe That sounds VERY GOOD indeed @spozone! ;) Hope you have a TERRIFIC weekend!!! :)

So I've come to the end of my long vacation end of semester internship and I'm grateful that it came to a successful end.

That is a VERY positive perspective that MANY would not have @nigtroy! So hats off to you for that :)

He's such an awesome little dude (no surprise, given his momma)!

#40 - Today I am grateful that we have a home. A very dear friend of mine recently lost theirs, and it was a sobering reminder that everything, in the blink of an eye, can change. I'm especially grateful that we're so totally spoiled, and have a place to ourselves (no upstairs neighbors banging about at all hours of the day and night). And I'm sure our former neighbors are just as grateful that we're gone... LOL!

Which is why he is "The Dude" :)

Yesterday was a day, I repeated myself so many times, that I finally lost it and flipped and told my kids off good and proper. I am grateful, that they allowed me my little Indian Mother drama, gave me space, then came to apologize when I had calmed down.... haha
I am grateful they listened when I told them many moons ago that "timing" can make or break a situation .. haha

#22 Today I am grateful for the teachers that play such an important role in our education and don't always have it easy
