What are YOU Grateful for TODAY? - #GratitudeTrain No. 42

When waking up this morning to get Jude ready for school, I climbed out of bed and literally froze instantly!!! It was a frosty 8 degrees, which is a lot colder than what most Capetonians are accustomed to! lol - Our Winters are like UK Summers generally haha! Anyhoooo... so enroute back from dropping Jude I was deciding whether to sit and work in the lounge when I got back or to take my laptop upstairs and crawl under the blankets to work. I opted for the lounge, but decided to pull the gas here right up to the table to assist in defrosting me. lol

About 2 minutes after putting it on, it ran out of gas and now I am sitting here with practically no feeling in my hands or toes and I have not yet found the enthusiasm to go upstairs, grab the tools and change the gas can.

Now, I may be cold - but krikey!!!! - Imagine what it must be like to have slept on a sidewalk in cold like this - with nothing more than a couple of cardboard boxes to keep you warm. Now THAT is perspective right there!!!

We ALL take for granted how fortunate we are and forget that no matter WHAT struggles we may go through, there is ALWAYS somebody who has it a lot worse than us!

It is perspective like this that open the gateway to compassionate and selfless living!

HAPPY HUMP DAY STEEMIT!!

I hope you all have a FANTABULOUS day ahead!!

Welcome to the #GratitudeTrain No. 42

Today I am grateful for the roof over my head, the fact that I can crawl into a heated bed at night and enjoy so many other luxuries that some people will probably NEVER experience in their lifetime.*

What is the purpose of The Gratitude Train?

......

I am of the firm belief that the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis is the key to shifting our lives in a positive direction. This is not only the expression of gratitude for the positive things in our lives, but also for the challenges which we are often faced with.

But sometimes, we can get wrapped up in our day to day existence and agenda, and it is not that we aren’t grateful, but rather that we simply forget to actually verbalise it or take the time to offer it a moment of dedication even in thought.

It is also true that surrounding yourself with the positive attitudes and mind-set of others, that it has a ripple effect on yours too…

So for ALL of us, including myself, I have decided to start this #gratitudetrain. We all spend a good portion of our lives here browsing through our Steemit feeds, so why not build a positive habit in the process. I think it will be great to share something every day that we are grateful for in our lives, no matter how big or small it may be.

Whether it is a new career path, a new hobby, an achievement of your child, a new relationship, a challenge overcome or simply a new pair of shoes… it doesn’t matter! There is without question… ALWAYS something we can take a moment to be grateful for!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

......

Step 1.
So starting today, in the comments section of #gratitudetrain post No. 1 – write something that you are grateful for in your life and start it with the number… as in if this is the first time you are sharing on the #gratitudetrain, then write the number “1.” And then state what you are grateful for.

Step 2.
Keep a record of your #gratitudetrain expressions shared in the comments somewhere in a word doc or such.

Step 3.
When you reach 30 – then publish a post on your own profile and be sure to use the #gratitudetrain tag or to tag me @jaynie in the post.

As simple as that!

The idea of this being, that not only will you develop a healthy and positive habit but at the end of 30 days when you share your own post, you will be able to reflect back and realise, just how MUCH GOODNESS there is in your life!

Shelter is good. I've always been grateful for that. Tried being without for a while (OK, so I was only homeless for a couple of months) and it sucked fairly badly. Mostly, I just try to stay in gratitude for the small daily things...

I can only imagine how hard that must have been @denmarkguy, but as you have mentioned it was a huge catalyst for a shift in your permanent perspective and gratitude for even the most insignificant things

@rok-sivante
I have some distinguished visitors to my profile. I am not talking about 'em . I am talking about this man because I am learning from his posts and experience. I am grateful to him today since you have asked about the same .
@rok-sivante- I love to read his experiences. Recently, I read his post about 2 years old and it's too much valuable. Why? Because those are the fundamental values everyone should have. How warmly and nicely this man appreciate comments and add value , I am really inspired.I am learning from his posts and some interaction in comment sections; how to add value to the platform; and ultimately add value to your life. This is important because frustration should have no place in anybody's journey

Any new user; Go straight to his profile... Learn how to be a good steemian because it's important if you wanna stay here for long... Add Value and Interact, produce a quality content and be your own boss forever...

Thanks for asking question... I love to respond.

That I spent more time actually painting today than I have in quite a while! I was pretty good at staying off social medias today, well, at least not scrolling absentmindedly lol

I miss being cold :) It is really too hot right now at my place. Happy hump day to you too (still funny, will never stop being funny...)

Check my post now mam

#24 Today I am grateful for the wind that's blowing outside because without it the weather is unbearable.. But I'm also grateful to have a shelter, in this case one that's cooler than outside (even though I don't have air-conditioning)

Yeah, we definitely need to see about some kind of Star Trek transporter, so I can cool off, and you can come here and warm up (current "real feel" temp is 84F/29C and it isn't even noon!).

#42 - Today I am grateful for the continued support of my family and friends, especially my husband. While I'm still doing one thousand percent better than I was this time last month, I'm continuing to have some issues. However I know that no matter what happens, they have my back. And in hubby's case, that means never letting my brain fall into the pit of doom & gloom – any time I teeter on the edge, he's there with a bit of humor (sometimes dark, but funny nonetheless) to push me back onto solid ground.

I start and end my day with gratitude!
