I agree with some of @christalopez's perspectives in her post. She said it all. Just that she still didn't solve every problem we minnows face here on Steemit. I mean it's not something only one person can solve. Okay, how about I start with my brief story and what I've learned so far
_If you do check the meetup tag, then you should have probably come across one of my posts. I focus on taking catalog records of Promo-steem Meetup posts across the globe and believe me when I tell you that it's a very tough task. I spend days to compile this weekly records and at the end, I have hundreds of posts to add to the catalog.
Post author username, post link, meetup location and dates all in different colums for hundreds of posts is never an easy task. And after spending days to do this, I hardly earn up to$0.5 despite the quality and the values these posts addsm to the blockchain every five days.
I've come across posts with less value having better rewards. Some bloggers just post anything they see just to earn Upvote. Yesterday fiction story, today politics, tomorrow art, next tomorrow crypto posts. No specific niche and their blogs look so crapy and yet they make better earnings. For this, sometimes I get frustrated and wonder why I'm so unfortunate on this platform.
But one thing keeps me going. Before coming to this platform, I've been a blogger who had entertainment and news blog. I knew how hard it is to make it if you're doing the right thing in blogging. I've already mastered the art of writing a viral blog post and I know how much value my posts add to the platform. So, I never expect the road to the top to be a smooth and easy one.
I am not in the position to say "it's always like this at the beginning but it gets better as time goes on" because it really ain't getting any better for me in this platform.
But the quality of my posts will bring me out someday, that I totally believe in and that's what keeps me going
These are what I've learned so far. Probably this will contribute positively to all that's been said.
Content is the king
That's one popular quote in the blogging world. The quality of the post you publish on your blog gives you a chance of getting seen by many. Regardless of how it seems, if your content is great, people will always commend you for that. Your content shows the level of intelligence and value within you.
Be consistent.
Consistency is the key to greatness in every field. That remains the same here on Steemit. Sometimes you wonder why your posts don't get lots of Upvote and rewards. To my understanding, it's because this blockchain tests for your level of commitment before it starts rewarding you. There are whales watching your blog (that's if your content is good) but some of them wouldn't give you their Upvote until they see that you're consistent with what you're doing.
On Steemit, the amount of input efforts is always proportional to the output rewards
Mind your blog readers' reactions on your contents
Checking your posts comments is very compulsory. People tend to share their opinions on your post through their comments. Your readers will tell you their opinions on your posts and you can make adjustments and improvements based on their opinions.
Steemit is a social media, socialize yourself with others.
One good thing about this community is it gives you several means of socializing with others. Check other people's blogs and leave comments that add value to their posts.
Engage in contests
The eyes are useless when the mind is blind
Many of us came into this platform 'cause we saw the amount of rewards bloggers are earning here. And the frustration comes in when we don't earn anything on our posts forgetting that you don't touch the sky at that exact moment you take off. There are several contests you can engage in to gain more experience and if lucky, get some SBDs or upvotes. The more the time you spend on this platform, the more you learn and the more you get noticed. Contests are meant to get Steemians engaged and probably earn some rewards.
I hope this add some value to what's been said already here.

We do see your work. Going through those records of yours, I do wonder why they get low upvotes. I believe the time is coming when they'll start getting better rewards. Just keep it

Thanks a lot @kaffy22.
Like we bloggers do say; content is the king. It's one of the keys to getting noticed as your content is what will bring your ideal readers to your blog.
Aside the content, interacting with other bloggers also has a lot to do for your blog. Steemit is a social media and hence there's a need for socialising yourself with bloggers who you think your will find your content worthy of reading and upvoting. Leaving good comments on people's posts is one great way of getting noticed.
