The Steemit Crypto Challenge #3

 Prepare - Uncover - Outwit - Find - WIN!

It's time for the Steemit Crypto Challenge #3. The second Challenge is almost done.

Can you follow your intuition? The first to reveal a hint will win a prize. The first to solve the whole challenge wins a much higher prize.

As always you receive several hints at start:

16-5-15-16-12-5 23-9-12-12 12-15-15-11 6-9-18-19-20 18-9-7-8-20 2-5-6-15-18-5 20-8-5

20-8 1-18-18-9-22-5-19 1-20 12-9-19-20 19-20 15-6 1-12-12 25-15-21 19-8-15-21-12-4 22-5 11-14-15-23-14

7-18-5-1-20 20-8-9-14-7-19 3-1-14 20-8-9-19

11-5-25 15-16-5-14 6-15-18 25-15-21

In case you give up, here is something to read in the meantime.

You might enjoy watching photography more then reading

If you hate reading and watching pictures then come visit me.

Rules, Terms, and Conditions

You will need to employ all of your skills to solve this  crypto-puzzle. This isn't for the weak-hearted.
Don't limit your creativity!
Take advantage of:

  • Image (and reverse) searches
  • Wikis or Encyclopedias
  • Filesharing Sites
  • Sound, video, and image recording manipulation

We are changing the Hint-System. Receiving hints is no more in relation to the amount of upvotes. Calling for upvotes can be considered as vote buying. We keep it classy. You will receive hints from time to time.
Stay frosty

Don't be limited to the list above, get creative! Apply what you have already learned. Perhaps from the last Challenge. Think you got in the bag? How hard could it be? Several hints are already in place. Open your eyes! Have a look around. But do not get distracted. All submissions are due by Wednesday August, 24 @ 6pm (UTC -4) The First Prize reward is 100% SBD + (237 SBD if Challenge 2 is not solved).  The more this post makes, the more you will win (Which will be rolled over if no one is able to solve crypto-puzzles).
Additional Prize: 10SBD per new hint uncovered. (This challenge is not impossible, but you'll feel like it is)

P.s.:  Teamwork is what Steemit is all about, don't be afraid to work together. I recommend you to use the chat. There is a channel where you can discuss the challenge: steemitcryptochallenge
Ask people to join. The more people join the easier it might get.

Additional information: If you are into the world of encryption, security and privacy and love to write contact me. I am looking for coauthors writing about these topics. Credits and SBD go to you

Happy hunting,

Tim Said

I'm still quite sure we're actually taking part in some weird-ass plan and unknowingly help you to take over the world by solving these puzzles... :D

Once I took over the world it's time for decentralisation and crypto will be the main currency

AH! Gotcha! That was the first thing I said in your initial post to your weird Crypto-mind-control-game, remember? "Throw your trust in the fiat-money system into the trash-bin and go crypto" or something like that.
I'm onto something bigger here, even if you wont admit it. Yet... :D

AND: "Two dictators" is SOME kind of decentralization, isn't it? ;)

Who knows. My main goal is currently to bring people together and enjoy their time with this puzzles. They share their knowledge and might become Friends.

will my shitcoins start being worth something again? I still have wallets full of them!

Good to see you are carefully watching these evil machinations. Unfortunatly I am far too dumb to even know where he is getting at with this stuff :D

@timsaid: way to go! Brilliant!

Basically, I'm trying to outsmart everyone here hunting for peanuts and by that become co-dictator next to @timsaid . Once all the pieces fall into place he finally HAS to acknowledge my genius.

I hope for a cosy little place at my future overlords imperial palace :-)

So far, I just feel dumb looking at such riddles... But time will tell, dear padawan. Time will tell.

I feel like I'm playing alone, everyone is at church or what?

The area marked at the map is "SPEICHERSTADT". Yet, no combination of capitol letters fits as "password", perhaps it's a previously used password?

QR Code leads to http://www.gidf.de/

Chairs leads to Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA)

Morse code in the start: HUGE NOPE LOL. nice try

Is it too late to say sorry?

Cause I'm, not justin bieber. bitch :P

QR code: http://www.gidf.de/ (sweet quote Google is your friend, but you do not seem to understand that! )

Hints are saying:

16-5-15-16-12-5 23-9-12-12 12-15-15-11 6-9-18-19-20 18-9-7-8-20 2-5-6-15-18-5 20-8-5

key open for you

The key decrypted:
ABBAABBAAA AABAABAAABBBBBABAABAABBAAAAABAABBABAAAABBBAABBAB

MY REPUTATION

This is a bilateral substitution method, applied partially. (bacon cipher)
It would have normally been used like this:

steem

BAABABAABBAABAAAABAAABBAA
(following, the capital letters represent a "b", all the others an "a")
=
BAA BA BAA B BAA BAAAA BAAA B BAA
Tim Is Mad! I Saw Blood. Jack A Saw.

So:
Tim Is Mad! I Saw Blood. Jack A Saw.
= Steem

But I believe Tim watered it a bit down for the sake of competitivity, go on... Keep on working people!.

PD: @timsaid's reputation at this moment is 61, just in case it changes.

I am going to take these chopsticks out of my food and poke them into my eyes now!

Just as an unnoficcial hint:
the ABBAABBAAA BAAABAABAAABBBBBABAABAABBAAAAABAABBABAAAABBBAABBAB
part is (as stated by the number-letter replacement a "key")

"polyalphabetic" is my hint (use google friends!)

you mean this ?

ABBAA BBAAA BAAAB AABAA ABBBB BABAA BAABB AAAAA BAABB ABAAA ABBBA ABBAB
01100 11000 10001 00100 01111 10100 10011 00000 10011 01000 01110 01101

No, as this:
key: ABCDAB CD ABCDA BCD ABCDABCDABCD
text: CRYPTO IS SHORT FOR CRYPTOGRAPHY
chipher: CSASTP KV SIQUT GQU CSASTPIUAQBJ

(as you may note, "crypto"'s cipher and plaintext's strings match)

HINT: YOU NEED THE CHAIRS AND WIKIPEDIA

Should we ask Alice Wiegand?
German, Wiki foundation chairman

Never heard of her
