Cycling Saratoga California

in steemitcycling •  7 years ago  (edited)

Here is my ride this afternoon which mostly went through Los Gatos and Saratoga in the South Bay area, CA. Photo below is from a condo complex that I passed while heading back. They did a nice job of designing and landscaping!

The ride was 33 miles and 2100 feet of climbing. It was a cool 59* F, good for climbing...

GPS data is from a Garmin Vivoactive HR, Wahoo fitness HRM and uploaded to Strava

Another shot from the pond at the condo complex, Birds of Paradise in bloom.

It has been raining here in Northern CA over the last week or so. The moss and ferns like the moisture. This is in the Saratoga foothills, the road runs along the Stevens Canyon creek.

I went to Costco before the ride and picked up some energy bars. If you can get a hold of this brand of energy bars, get some as they are pretty good. (Take them on a hike or a long day of walking if your not a cyclist/runner)
The good thing about these bars is that they do not have any flour/wheat in them. (They do fall apart a little)

Love the flowers! No matter what happens, you still go for a ride and flowers always make me happy. 😄

If I see some nice flowers going forward, I'll be sure to take a shot of them. I really like the colors that nature has to offer.

😊 Great! Me too.

Very beautiful place dear

Thanks! =)

I grew up in the South Bay Area and I love these photos because it reminds me of when I lived there! There is something magical about northern California (although people from north of Sac would probably argue that the Bay isn't truly Nor Cal haha). All those beautiful plants and trees! We just don't have the same ones down south! Don't get me wrong, down here is beautiful in it's own way but the South Bay will always hold a special place in my heart! :)

Great post! :)

Yes! The bay area is a great place for cycling and sports in general. The location is close to the snow in Tahoe and the coast is minutes away. Hope you move back here someday.

The open spaces up off of Skyline are full of all sorts of quality trails. Enjoy the riding!

Yes, I've been riding them for quite some time as I have 2 mtb's.

You are a genuine fitness freak.. Great dedication man...

Doesn't seems like biking was your main objectives. I think it was exploring the beauty of CA. Anyway flowers are for the ladies but really love the place
