Here in the Philippines, the Black Nazarene is well known. Alot of people always come and join the procession with the Black Nazarene every year.
As I know, it is well known because it is said that it is miraculous, a touch can cure diseases. So it has been really known.
Me and my husband, we join the procession every year, even if there are so many people in the procession, thankfully, we always get along fine.
I saw an actress there too, I have been seeing her on tv, but I was really happy to see her in personal too. It was Aleck Bovick! , she was a nice lady. She said that she has been a follower for a very long time now. As I remember, he said it was around 2007.
The Black Nazarene, was enshrined in Quiapo Church, for a very long time now, around year 1787!
