Tranquillity and Trepidation are two big words found near each other in the dictionary but far apart in meaning. Tranquillity is associated with peace and calm, trepidation with fear and terror.
Worldwide threats to life and livelihood have left no one unscathed. Events that have taken place In Marawi due to terrorists’ attacks and in other country, claimed thousands of lives. Floods, fire and earthquakes take not just life but billions of properties and livelihood.
Destruction in every region of the world portends a coming day of even greater terror. One dictionary’s definition of terror is a state of intense fear. If things are scary now with such grim prospects for the future, the frightening condition of this world will continue intensifying to such a degree.
Remaining calm amidst of the storm is what we must need to do. Have courage, strength and always have faith to God. To have tranquillity in these times of trepidation can be found in one simple word also found close to tranquillity and trepidation in the dictionary, TRUST. Take refuge and in our Father in heaven, let us put our TRUST.
