Hi guys here is one awesome community.
THE BETLINE INPACT ON THE CITY OF ATLANTA
In the ’70s and ’80s, the atlanta city center was losing population. The city was unstable and not growing as much.images.jpg

The development pressure was intense at that point during the recession, and the city was looking for ways to maintain quality of life so the BETLINE IDEA CAME.
The BeltLine plan was originally developed in 1999 as a masters thesis by Georgia Techstudent Ryan Gravel. Ryan-Gavel.jpg
So people fell in love with the idea because its going to be a redevelopment of a formerly contaminated community, the plan will spark economic development, community engagement, and new affordable housing options in 45 city neighborhoods.
So how is the Atlanta BeltLine doing now, all these years later?
Pretty well,Gravel’s idea has had a profound effect on Atlanta since its groundbreaking, with major impacts in three areas in particular —economy, health, and transit.

HEALTHIER HABITAT

For example, significant effort has been put into water resources management, including managing storm water, groundwater capture and recapture, and limiting impervious surfaces to reduce runoff.

Another big priority all along the BeltLine has been the development of green space and parks that provide people with “social capital,” an enhancement of quality of life through physical activity and the ability to interact that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

The BeltLine created spaces with clean and green infrastructure and good air quality, where you have the ability to walk and use your bicycle, saving you trips by car — it creates opportunities to become more physically active,”

It’s my goal to continue following the development of communities like this so we could have a better community

Community building is more than just moving people from point A to point B or conveying water to a sewer. It’s literally the foundation for our economy, our culture, our social life. It enables things to happen or precludes things from happening.

Oh my God, I love this city. Good policy makes good and quality life. Beltline idea translated great quality community building.

Just an idea implemented can change anything

Thank you just an idea

Community is important, we can learn from history about the results of aiming for a common goal has shaped a lot of things. However in Africa we believe in "All man for himself, God for all" this has to change if we have to make an impact.

Yea learning from history and other successful community could also transform our immidiate community, Life is all about learning and evolving through change and we must be able to do that openly and without fear of ridicule for the entire duration of our lives.
It should, therefore, not be perceived as any sign of weakness as a community or nation, if a community wishes to learn how to develop its environs by learning from a successful and establish community, That’s how we will be able to grow and develop our immidiate community i believe in Africa

Spot on!

Team work always goes a long way . it reaches home n abroad we building this community together God help us all

Yes we are and nothing can stop us

Wow good to know...

Very lovely article. Africa is a lovely place. We can all build it together to make Africa a lovely place

Cool article..

Am glad you find it cool sir

I am happy seeing how environmental conscious these people are, some don't really care for the environment. Litters of plastics dots such landscape that will take hundreds of years to decompose. This is pretty good for the environment and our ecosystem. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront.

Am happy you knw this buddy, As a long-time environmental steward of the Earth, our personal mission should be to clean-up litter wherever we can. We should also share this mission with others, especially our own friends and family.
So whether I’m just walking in and out of a business or riding down the road, I always try to do my part to keep our environment tidy.
Sure, it's very small — but it's a start. And the price to nature of not doing it is all too clear.
With this we can make our community a better place to live in

Truly said I support environment

Yes, we need to keep the nature safe, because we need nature, nature don't really need us :)

Interesting...

Nice article

Great post! Like you rightly noted, infrastructure is key to community development. However,, that is lacking in Africa. If only African leaders could take a que from this, they would have been able to prove afterall, that development is not as difficult as it is made to look.

Its sad that hundreds of millions of Africans lack even the most fundamental amenities, from rural roads to basic health, education, banking and commercial services and the leader are not helping, Weak project planning and management capacity is another challenge.

Great post ..Infrastructure is the key to development!
