Some very sound advice for not only new users but for those that have been around for a bit also. Real commenting on a post is the way to grow your followers. I am amazed every time I look at the number of followers I have, and most of my content involves just IFC, and newbieresteemday stuff. Yeah on occasion I may enter a contest, but to be honest, I really have no "real content" to give a person a reason to follow me, but I do so love to leave votes and comments on people's pages. So maybe they follow to read my comments, I don't know. but I am getting a lot of followers.

I like leaving comments. I figure that I can't always leave a penny, but words don't cost anything and really do make for nice feelings between people.
I remember seeing the IFC stuff now... I might decide to enter one of the contests, but I haven't yet. I do a lot of other contests now which has been a lot of fun and I've won a few here and there as well. For the newbie, they can pay better than good posts.
I'm a bit of a natural blogger, but I don't like having to follow a niche, so Steemit is really right up my alley. I hope to share some of my fiction soon.
