Bitter gourd (bitter melon)is a creeping annual plant, scientifically called Momordica Charantia, popularly known as Korean cucumber and balsamic pear. The fruits of bitter gourd resemble cucumbers or zucchini, but there is a difference in the presence of some protrusions and aliases on their outer shell, and their taste is bitter.

Bitter gourd(bitter melon) is a member of the gourd family, a vegetable known function in Asian countries, it is known for use in cooking, health and medical properties, although many of us do not like the taste or make faces in it (like me), these vegetables are filled with nutrients.

We had bitter gourd for lunch or dinner regularly during our stay in India. The taste was quite tough! There was one way they prepared it for us, I think deep fried - which was super tasty and I really could eat that every day. Probably great for taste but not for health benefits though ;)
