I know as a parent one would want their children to accomplish more than they could when they were their children's age. As parents whom all want their children to grow up in a healthy household and know that they are loved.
What if parents stopped trying to raise their children to be smarter and started raising their children to be decent human beings instead? Many parents know about the struggle for money and living comfortably but do they really understand what the stress they are placing on their children are doing??
Children are writing in cursive by the time they start their second term in grade two! When my mother was that age she could barely read because learning through play was much more important than how to read a 50 page book in less than a week.
I understand that technology is progressing and that the world is becoming more and more revolutionary but it is still a parents job to ensure that their children are coping, happy and able to handle the workload given to them.
The children are overworked. Have they ever thought what would happen to their child once they reach grade but already know how to read and write and complete worksheets? No they haven;t and let me explain why - These parents become so consumed in the mental capability of their children that they completely forget about the mental capacity!
World leading therapists have noted that if a child starts learning and studying before the age of two, there is a % chance that they would become tired and demotivated before even reaching highschol!
That is terrible statistics, but it't the truth!
Some parents don't worry about the schoolwork and tests and projects due but rather put all of their energy and time into ensuring that their child is competing in tournaments and competitions that will (if willing their children don't pass in school) they could do something in sport.
This pressurizes the children even more for they are the ones that sit in a class, unable to understand the math given to them because they missed 4 or 5 weeks of classes in order to train for an upcoming event. These children are the ones that suffer a great deal because they receive the test results along with all of their other piers and notice that the aren't doing as well as they were suppose to. Sometimes these children even feel neglected or stupid.
Parents are trying to live their own dreams through their children and don't get me wrong, I know that as a parent you see the potential in your child and you want the best for them. Just don't over do it!
They're only kids!
Let them play and let them explore!
By the time it's too late nothing can be taken back and then those children whom never got the chance to play will become old and tired before their time and it's a terrible shame to know that some people, although they are
only buried by the age of 75, they died many, many years before.
