More than a thousand Malikussaleh University students from various faculties attended a public lecture with the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning, Sofyan Djalil, at the ACC Uteunkot Building, Lhokseumawe, Friday (1/3/2019). The students who exceeded the capacity of the building made many participants who did not get seats even outside the building.
Students begin arriving at the Uteunkot ACC Building after Friday prayers. They move neatly to get into the building. Although the number of students exceeded capacity, the situation was very controlled because students entered in an orderly manner.
The public lecture on technology 4.0 was opened by the Unimal Chancellor, Dr. Herman Fithra, who conveyed some of his expectations regarding the development of the Unimal campus in the future. The Chancellor hopes that as the son of Aceh, Sofyan Djalil can help transfer a number of unused state assets to Unimal.
In his presentation, besides conveying the development of 4.0 technology that could be applied in various fields, Sofyan
Djalil also shared his experience while still being a student activist.
Unfortunately, limited time makes the planned discussion from the start not work. After delivering the material, Minister Sofyan Djalil left the ACC Building and continued his trip to Langsa.
Sofyan Djalil promised to help Malikussaleh University in the process of transferring state assets to Unimal's. He also said that the Lecture Card to be rolled out by the Government is a continuation of the Bidikmisi scholarship that has been running so far. "All Indonesian youth must get higher education," says Sofyan Djalil.
Sofyan reminded, even though most Unimal students came from underprivileged groups, he hoped students would not survive the situation. "I am concerned that many families now claim to be poor in order to get hopeful family assistance," he said.
In another part, Sofyan Djalil said that technological advances on the one hand helped humans in various fields. But on the other hand, weak intellectual and spiritual abilities make many humans victims of technology, including swallowing hoax as truth. "Use the cortex to absorb various information," says Djalil.
In addition to delivering material about technology, Sofyan Djalil also provided motivation and shared experiences with students. He shared his experience
The public lecture was attended by more than a thousand students, even though the ACC Building could only accommodate around 600 students. Many students do not get a seat, are forced to cross-legged on the floor and are on the page of the Unimal ACC Building. []
Seribu Mahasiswa Universitas Malikussaleh Hadiri Kuliah Umum Sofyan Djalil
