Really interesting info, thank you! What is your oppinion on Thyroid disease and heart disease? I have an underactive thyroid and have gained so much weight as a result. Probably about 2 stone in all. I exercise daily and eat really well, but my metabolism is so slow and I have gained a lot of fat around my middle which I have been told can affect the heart. What are your thoughts on this? thanks :)

    Right now...all i can say is the slow metabolism..are u on thyroxine? I don't know how much exercise you need to do more or how much more diet modification you need.
    Increase weight is very easy for those with underactive thyroid.

      I was on Thyroxine, but it didn't work, so they changed me to T3 treatment, but that gave me heart palpitations, so now I am coming off that and will probably have to go back on Thyroxine.

      Am sorry, am not well versed with thyroid meds..i will have to check. They can only give u higher doses perhaps?I need to do a bit of research on this one☺

        when I was put on a higher dose, it made me very ill. I got dizzy spells constantly :/

          It says here twice a day as it is short-acting.
          There is 125mcg dose...perhaps that is better?

            sorry, I meant the thyroxine was that dose. My t3 dose was twice a day, 25mcg each dose, but i have had to come off that because it was causing heart palpitations
