More about Luan and Octopus

Luan and his mother went to the library; they were looking for books on sea creatures. 

The Lady at the library was helping them and she said what are you looking for? 

Suddenly Luan burst out telling her about this beautiful little baby octopus he had just seen. 

She did not know anything about it, but she was so interested that she said, I have my computer here in the library do you think you can tell me where to find him. He said no but he does know it is called a Dumbo octopus.

The lady said that is all we need to know let us start looking.

Sure they said and they showed her the little Dumbo octopus that they had seen at his aunt’s house. She told them that they can try and find out more about them if they dig around on the internet. 

Oh that would be wonderful Luan said as he did not know much about computers yet, and was interested to see more about his little baby octopus. She started searching and found a video telling them some interesting facts about the dumbo octopus

She found another video that showed them how big they can grow and it is so nice to watch as it shows the octopus in different positions and he is about a meter wide when stretched out. He also saw that they look just like umbrellas when they are photographed from the bottom and he just loved this.        

   

Now Luan felt as he had really seen all he could wish for about the Dumbo octopus and thanked the lady for being so kind and doing so much trouble to help them. And how pleased she was to see the little Dumbo octopus.

He went with his mother to go and find some books on sea creatures, and they knew that when they got home, they will enjoy reading about them. 

The lady at the library told Luan if there is ever something you find and want to know more about you are so welcome to come and ask me and we will look together for the animal on the computer. 

Luan thanked her and he and his mother went home.

After they had dinner, they sat telling his father all about the wonderful experience they had watching the Dumbo octopus and at bed time they started reading about some of the other animals that lived in the sea.

He lay thinking, he could not wait for the holiday to start so that he could go and see what the sea really looked like for himself, as his parent promised to take him on the next school break. 

The children at school all sat around him at break time and he told them about the wonderful lady at the library, and what he saw on the computer. This made all the other children also want to visit the library and find some interesting things out about what they liked. 

Luan loved animals but there are children who are interested in other things like woodwork and magic and they suddenly realised that they could learn more about all this from the library.

Luan was so happy that he could help his friends.  

When he got home, he told his mother all about the wonderful day at school. He then rushed out to the woods as he did not have time to go the previous day and he knew the animals would all wonder where he was.
