TEACHING TODDLERS TO DRAW

This is for toddlers and for me because I cannot draw to save my life, so I am starting from scratch just like they are.

We think that toddlers must learn to colour pictures, and teach them not to go over lines. But why not just teach them to draw and colour their own pictures as this teaches then both scenarios.

I am crazy about art yet have no ability. I look at all the art posts on steemit and cannot believe the wonderful gift some people have. There are steemit artist who take my breath away, and I thought maybe you could have a child in your class that has the possibility of becoming an artist.

How do we find this out? We start them as toddlers and teach them simple ways to draw. Those who will never be artists will at least learn how to draw some nice pictures that they can enjoy and colour in. Maybe in this process we find a child that does not even need these basics because they were born to draw.

Every child has some gifts, they are not all the same but for this post maybe art is the one to start with.

Children can be fantastic athletes, or skiers or debaters. We will only find this out once we allow them to participate in these activities. So I am going to put a few drawings in that I personally think can get children to make their own drawings, and just maybe become a brilliant artist, just as the other activities can bring other children’s gifts to light.

I am useless with drawing, this gives some ideas for those wishing to give it a bash though. Nice educational tool for parents with young children @bigbear agree with you to let the child express themselves with crayons in which ever why they wish, or you never see what they are capable of if you hanging over their shoulder telling them what to do.

Thank you so much joanstewart I reallyl hoped some people at art would pick it up, not that they need it but maybe a child might.

i resteem your post.....

Thank you will resteem you as well.

@bigbear I remember those days when we were given of shape and were asked to draw an animal or fruit. It was fun because we could use our imaginations. I like the idea of being able to draw something and then color with restrictions of staying the lines. They say creativity should be free. I do believe we all have our own gifts and we should use them freely. Thank-you for the lovely post. I still don't know how you do it. It took me all day to write one. I guess I have to dig really deep to find it! Have a good day @bigbear! :D

Thank you cabbagepath it is weird how difficult it is to think like a small kid. Im old but have not gone back to my mother in laws 2 year old thoughts. Shouds funny but she is 95 and just like the bible says back to becoming a child again. All she wants is sweets so we buy her suckers andit helps just like a dummy. lol

Thanks

Thanks for the resource. Lovely examples I can use for my own kids

That is why I write these posts for small children. I think there are lots of young people here and they can really help their children.

will send this to my friend who has a toddler!!!

You are so kind thank you very much.

Thank you for sharing with us! I hope you enjoy the upvote! i follow you,,,

I follow you for long time already thanks

yey! I have 3 kids whom I am trying my best to influence to love drawing... my eldest is 8 and though good when he tries, is just not interested. the 2 smaller ones hopefully would be more inclined. :D

So sorry to think he might be good, but enjoyabily is also important, maybe you can ask him to teach the 2 smaller ones and he would enjoy. This might just motivate him to show them how good he is. Good luck.

Oh thanks for that @bigbear. Will definitely try it out.

best drawing, nice post
