Having trouble removing stains from your favourite belongings can be one of the worst things ever! Especially when you’re unable to replace it and having to throw it out. But before throwing it out why not try using some things you already have in your house? Below are a few hacks that you could try:
I don’t know about you but in my family they taught us that just because it’s a toilet it doesn’t have to smell and look like one. There’s nothing more disturbing to me than a filthy toilet! Besides using bleach to clean the toilet, you can use lemon Kool Aid! Kool Aid has citric acid in it and that helps to get rid of those tough stains. plus it will smell good.
Spilled wine? Get a dry cloth and dab to get rid of any remaining wine then just make a paste using water and baking soda and dab on the stain then vacuum. On the other hand, to remove red wine you’ll have to pour not dab the baking soda then vacuum up the excess, if the stain hasn’t completely disappeared then wash it off with detergent.
Getting rid of coffee and tea stains from your mugs has never been easier. All you have to do is just soak them in warm or hot water with bleach and just soak them for a little bit and the stains will just come off in no time.
Have some rust on some of your stuff? Lemon juice does the trick! You can also clean the inside of your kettle with lemon juice by pouring lemon juice in the kettle with a bit of water and turning the kettle on and let the magic happen!
What could be more annoying than putting on your gorgeous white t-shirt and seeing armpit stains even though the shirt has been recently washed? Well, you won’t have to worry about that anymore because you can get rid of those stains in no time! Mixing baking soda and lemon juice and making a paste will do the trick, all you have to do is rub it onto the stain and leave it to do its job for about 30-60 minutes before throwing it into the washing machine.
Injured yourself and got some blood on your clothing? Instead of washing the stain off with some soap and warm or hot water, run some cold water on the stain and if you still see the stain then just soak it in water for a few minutes and that should do the trick. Using hydrogen peroxide will also work well in removing blood stains.
Gosh, I wish I knew about this next hack years ago! Using soda to get rid of grease! Using water to get rid of grease on your clothing will just set it some more so just get some soda and pour it on the stain and the stain will disappear.
Trying to get rid of chewing gum on any surface can be very annoying, so before you decide to waste time trying to take it off, put ice on the gum so that it hardens which will be much more easier to take off. If you have gum on your clothing then you could also put it in the freezer until the gum becomes hard then take it off.
These next two hacks aren’t really a cleaning hack but I’m sure it’ll help some people who put on make-up. Removing your make up at the end of the day could be seriously tiring and sometimes you might not have some facial wipes to take off your make up. Try using oil to remove your make up rather than using water, water doesn’t remove make up as quick as oil does.
Your matte lipstick won’t come off? Oil yet again is great for this and removing any remaining lipstick stains.
Grass stains on your clothing? Mix warm water and vinegar and rub onto the stain then throw it into the washing machine.
I love doing DIY projects and sometimes they involve having to use a marker, I prefer using a permanent markers and sometimes that could be troublesome. Getting rid of permanent marker stains can be stressful if you don't know how to remove them. But here are a couple tips to removing them: Try using hand sanitizer for any stains that you have on clothing and watch them just completely disappear & if you've made a mistake while drawing some designs on a mug or writing something then all you need is toothpaste and baking soda to be able to right your wrongs.
You can also use hand sanitizer to remove slime that could've gotten onto your clothing.
Lastly, getting rid of nail polish stains. Purchase some acetone if you happen to be one of those people who love using nail polish quite often. Acetone can really come in handy.
