Teachers are still teachers even after they retire.

I have a friend who is a retired teacher, or so she says. This woman still volunteers at schools to help out when needed. She helps me by giving me advice when needed and comes up with cool learning ideas. She donates items to schools if she can. She visits the school I work at with a smile on her face and greets each child. She gets on the floor and plays with the children and the children love her visits.

This same wonderful teacher evacuated before hurricane Irma struck. Now she is in a hospital and had emergency surgery last night. She is now blind which happened in the matter of days. She has a tumor on her pituitary gland which is causing the blindness. Last nights surgery was not what they were hoping for and doing another surgery today.

This woman has dedicated her life to teaching and is still teaching me each day. I know this is not the normal steemit education post. But once a teacher always a teacher.

Once a teacher always a teacher. Amen. Thank God for all the wonderful teachers out there who are tireless educators. I hope your friend can make a satisfactory recovery. A tumour on her pituitary gland sounds pretty serious...she's in my prayers.

Thank you

In my town a lot of women teachers return as paraprofessionals and interventionists

It is great when retired teachers stay involved.
