We need to learn how to become stronger in all aspects of our life. That's a fact. It's pure and simple. In the age we live right now we can find everything. And it's all to our reach that we just have to extend our hand and take it.
The reason for this availability is progress. With every step toward advancement we get better at something but we also depend too much on it. And In a moment of reflection - if you take the time - you will realize that we have committed most our survival to it.
Here's a just a query: how many people do you know that says that my life is my phone?
Or this premise: "if you take this (gadgets) away from me, I'm doomed."
I'm not against technology. I LOVE it, and the progress that brings along. But sometimes it is necessary to keep in mind that if we depend too much on them, we are going to get weaker and weaker. Allow me to deepen on this a little more:
As I said Technology is fantastic. We should always strive for it. I mean, never be static or passive when it comes to it. There are some people that bash on new technology because it causes troubles to humanity. But it's actually people who make it that way. It's the user not the tool.
Now, when we use technology, we forget taking care about other things. One of them is our physical condition. This is of great importance so I will dedicate a complete segment some lines below.
The other is exploring. Sometimes we need to go out there to explore the world. We have to taste the good things and even some of the bad things to have a more accurate perception of the reality around us. In the process we also discover knowledge, which is a rewarding experience, because we find it in a natural way without the restriction of rules and prejudices.
The resistance to try other things is another weakness. But adjustments can be done and even managed with quick success. What it just takes is the will to do it.
But the problem most people face is to get out of the comfort zone. But we are adjustable creatures. Also, it doesn't mean we have to be completely immersed in something we don't want. But it's necessary to possess strength when we deal with unpleasant situations.
This is my main concern. Let's rewind the clock millions of years back when the first humans roamed the earth. They had a different structure in their anatomy. Of course, that was due to another evolution level. But that helped them survive long enough during that era.
Just imagine sending back a "modern" person to live among those people. That person would last a month. He/she won't have the resistance to endure the environment. Also, the internal system would be exposed to many pathological agents that the body won't able to bear.
As a matter of fact, nowadays nature is different and evolution has going on since then, but what if we have to experience again those activities. I mean, no having what we posses now to make our life easier every day.
And this is not about being paranoid and foreseeing an apocalyptic scenario. This is more about building our best physical condition with the capacities we were born with. And to do it in a way that we don't have to stress ourselves.
In order to make all these changes, we also have to change our mind. It actually comes first. If we don't really want it, we wouldn't make it.
Essentially, not embracing the desire will just leave us half way there at best. So we need to break the glass that separates the words from the action, and make the step.
I know it's difficult for people. It's always the hardest part. It's like they say, we're the enemy of ourselves. Our own limitations reside in our denial to change.
There are many resources out there we can use. Becoming stronger requires us to break free from the status quo. It's challenging, but we can make good use of the environment to our advantage.
For example, by looking how animals interact in their ecosystems we can learn some habits of adjusting. Naturally, in the animal kingdom the reactions of any animal is simpler. There are not these complex elements commonly found in humans. Nevertheless, as "supposed" creatures with reason and judgement, we are more than able to copy some discipline from other living species.
So, I think it is imperative to make our body and mind stronger no matter if we live in an era when modernity has eased us a little bit.

Now see I would disagree that we need to become stronger and say, rather, that we need to become more flexible and more adaptable in every area of our lives, starting with our thoughts and our bodies. It is more about flow, than strength. I think :)
