  • Always stay calm to keep a clear mind
  • Check for missing pages
  • Write your name and class clearly
  • Know when to start and stop writing
  • Read all instruction carefully
  • Read all questions carefully before answering
  • Circle key words to ensure no careless mistakes
  • Do not waste time on difficult question.
Circle that question, move on and come back to it later.
  • If you need to guess in a multiple-choice question, do so intelligently by eliminating impossible answers first
  • Put aside at least 5 to 10 minutes for checking answers
  • Look out for carelessness in tenses, spelling, punctuation, missing words, missing numbers or missing answers.

Interesting. Not long ago, I was still preparing for and eventually took my CISSP exams. Since young, my study style is always to take quick sprints with breaks in between. I will take 30 minutes to study on one topic and then take a break of maybe 15-30 minutes. May sound a little unorthodox but that worked for me.

During exams, I love those MCQs questions. I like to do a speed run to read through and answer as many questions as possible that I'm confident with. Then start working on those that I need to think further. This helps as there are always clues in some later questions for earlier questions and vice versa.

For questions I am really unsure, I try to make educated guesses through eliminating the obvious.

Thanks for your great advice and ideas!

I always love exams. To me, exams mean no classes, no projects and no assignments to hand in. 😅

Thanks for your comment. Yup! There is no homework during exam period!

Thank goodness my years of exams are long gone... :)
Cool tips though

Thanks for the visit and read my simple points for exam!

For me, I have never been the best student. I always study on a last minute basis. I still can remember when I was in Polytechnic. I will play computer games on a daily basis and only when exams are 3 days away. I will stay up all night just memorize stuff on a last minute basis. Once I enter the examination hall, I will vomit everything that I have memorized and forget everything the moment i leave the hall.

That's the story of my early education life!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Cheers for greater support for @teamsingapore.

Good tips! i am someone who do last mins study too :P

I was able to do last-min study in secondary school too. When I proceed to higher education, it was quite impossible to achieve better grades and remember all the info for me with last min revision so schedule and good rehearsal of info in my brain provide longer retention of info.

Nice guide!

Exams can be difficult for some people. They were too for me up until the stage I decided not to be afraid of them anymore. A year back I was nervous about exams starting a day before it and started to forget more things than usually just because I was nervous. It took me some time to realize that there is literally nothing you can do at that point to change anything (there is literally just one thing you studied enough or not).

Therefore: Preparation is all! I started to start studying for exams the earliest it is possible that way I can coordinate better since I only need to study let's say one hour a day for 2-4 weeks (depending on the exam) to be prepared for it. I realized quickly studying this way leads to more free time for me and me being better prepared for exams in general.

Thank you for sharing your experience about the importance of making a schedule for revision.

Planning is the most important thing when it comes to an exam, but I have always said everything depends on your approach if you are willing to study to get it right and you have the motivation. If you like what you study, you will do well in my country. that says something like: if you do or study what you love you will never see it as an effort or an obstacle, everything is what a person really wants

That is totally true!

Making use of a time to make summaries is useful, since it facilitates the memory in an organized and fresh way to store it in a better way carefully. Avoid wasting time looking through all the information you need to study and start with the first part and move forward little by little. This is because sometimes we waste time seeing everything we have to study and we do not start doing it. Thanks for the tips, I wanted to add what also in personal opinion I consider important, greetings!

Thank you for your good comment to the topic!

These are some good tips, although if you don't mind, I think you meant to say "review" not "revise". You "review" the information for an exam, whereas you "revise" an essay or a paper you've written. Of course, if the exam is an essay, then either one works, I guess.

It's so easy to not feel prepared for an exam but if you were able to find a lot of practice questions similar to those from the exam, then we can feel a lot more comfortable when taking them, I think this is an important part of review that can sometimes be hard to actually find.

What kind of exams may have been the hardest for you? I've heard that the Chinese "gaokao" / college entrance exam is incredibly competitive and hard...

Geography and Science were quite a challenge for me when I was a student. I have been out of school for many years. Thanks for the advice about review and revise. Perhaps one should review what they have been revising to ensure effectiveness of learning.

Good tips, @fun2learn. Get enough sleep is one of the most important things to have before exam, I guess. When they come to the class with a fine condition, everything will run well as they expected.

Thank you for reading my article. Sleep is definitely important as a sleepy child cannot perform to its full potential.

Yupp, you can say that again. I noticed some of my students who didn't performed well during examination because of lacking of sleep. They learnt along the night for tomorrow's exam N it affected their condition a lot. In another case, some of them reasoned that they would easily memorize the learning materials/the concepts if they read and reviewed them a couple hour before the exam. Can we said it as style of learning?

I have read once that it is good to have an ordinary yogurt before the exam. After that I always had yogurts. I finished the college, so there must be some good in this yogurt tip after all. :))) Of course, if you don't study no yogurt will help you either.

Spread out the schedule to study is still important. Yogurt perhaps can help to wake you up a little and calm you down.

Great guide buy what kid is going to hand their phone and tablet over to their parents 😸

Thank you! It is true that many kids are quite addicted to them.

Very good tips, thanks a lot!

You're welcome!

Thank you for reading!

What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Yeah @fun2learn, these are vital tips, it's the same thing our guardians always tell us, but one little thing you pointed out that people always take for granted is the good sleep on the night before the exams. Really important! People spend the night reading and the next day being the exam they'd be battling with sleep in the hall. Lol.
Keeping a calm mind is also important, attention needs be paid to keeping away panic and tension. Cool tips in the end 👍

@nevies

Thank you for your positive feedback!

👍

I have exam in 2 days.

Thx I will try some of these tips <3

Good point is to circle key words when doing the exam, because I tend to forget things in seconds. After I read the text I won't remember anything afterwards, maybe I am just bad at reading with my mind :D

Sometimes, the best method is the method that works for you. Finding your own style is really important to see great results. All the best for your coming exam!

Thank you :)

Es importante estudiar todos los dias los nuevos temas, eso se dice estudiantes, hay que estudiar todos lod dias antes del examen, muy interesante post

I always put an allnighter before exams and hammer the knowledge into my head. Works every time :>

Thanks for your comment. Different people really work in different ways. Working the day before puts the information into your temporary memory but schedule of revision may make it slightly more lasting. It is true that many still find last minute revision can still work! Thanks for the visit!
