Generation Z are people who are born after 1990.
There are many different people that attempt to put different ranges of years to Generation Z.
In simple, Generation Z are people who are currently 29 years old and below.
I suspect many people on this platform belongs to Generation Z and there is a reason to why I say this.
This article is simply some personal thoughts about Generation Z.
Technology Savvy
I belong to Generation X but I often need to work with teachers from Generation Z.
I belong to a generation when computers only started to become popular in my teenage years.
Internet is not a common thing like now and it was expensive to have internet at home.
Generation Z is a generation where internet and computer are common items.
They are generally good with technology and they are exposed to them since young. That is why I suspect many members on the platform belong to Generation Z.
By understanding the strength of Generation Z in technology, we can learn from them rather than getting defensive because they are younger than us.
Working together with them can be a wonderful learning experience since they know lots of things about technology.
Communication
I must admit, many people from the Generation Z that I had worked with can be rather impatient at times.
They want things to be done quickly without wastage of time. They do not like to wait unless it is something to their interest.
When Generation X works with Generation Z, I need to communicate my rationale of the need for additional time to complete the task properly.
It really depends on the type of task to be completed. When we need to redesign a product or lesson, we cannot complete it without proper research and consideration.
Through effective communication, it is not hard to get Generation Z to understand and be more patient before rushing to complete the task.
They also need to think before they speak. There may be times when we experience hurtful words spoken by them but they are not aware.
Helicopter View
The need to have an overview of the whole situation is an important aspect that everyone of us needs to have especially for the ones in leadership position.
With technology as a strength for Generation Z, they are able to have lots of ideas for different areas but all these ideas must be able to link and coordinate for greater success.
The need to know the overall situation of the organisation or different departments would enable the Generation Z to give great ideas that can even transform the whole organisation to become more productive.
Regardless of which generation that we are born in, we have to learn the facts and situations before giving ideas or comments to make our words more valuable to our listeners.
When useless or unproductive suggestions are often made, it is a matter of time that no one would listen.
In Conclusion
I have seen categorisation of the characteristics of different generations before.
Whatever stated could just be generalisation as everyone is different and there is always exception depending on the external influence as well as how one is being nurture by his parents.
Working with people can never have a fix format but we need to understand one another well before jumping into conclusion based on first impression.
We can always change others through our personal influence.

Yeah, people under the age of 29 are part of Gen Z? Yeah, many of them have been taught the art of not being patient. That's bad. Yeah, each individual is different and some of them are breaking away from the bad habits, but bad people have taught them to be lazy and to not care about things which then leads to other problems. That's why I'm sharing this post. I like this post too.

Isn't that what I said? People under or below or less than 29 are part of Gen Z. Those words are synonyms. I'm 34 years old, meaning I'm Gen Y but almost Gen Z.

I love this post! Thanks for giving labels to the generation differences. I think its going to be mass adoption time when all the teenagers around today get to say 23 years old, because like you say they are much more surrounded by technology and so have a more natural take to it all.

I like this post, but millenials and generation Z are two different generation brackets and yes they share some defining characteristics in terms of the advent of technology, there are still a lot of stuff that distinctly set them apart esp. In the case of this article.... General Z from 1999 - date, mellenials 1990 - 1998 this subtle difference would better highlight the temperament of each generation with regards to the discussion.... If you would look into it.

Some sources do state Millenniums or Generation Y to born from 1998 to 2006 while Generation Z from 1995 onwards. The generation of years to identify the characteristics of people born from different range of years definitely can have further research
