Water is life. Without water there will be no life.
I am a regular viewer of the Naked and Afraid which aired every night from Monday to Fridays at 7:30 pm in Discovery Channel. Every episode is unpredictable. The players will have to expect the unexpected game. The challenge here is to survive within 14 days or 21 days where one man and woman stranded in an area where they are allowed to bring one item each.
Discovery Channel takes the ubiquitous survival show theme to the next level by stripping it to its bare essentials.They're stranded in a dangerous, desolate location, without food or water, and they're completely naked. Each episode follows the adventurers as they attempt to survive on their own with nothing but a personal item and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment. Because there is no other choice, competitors quickly get to know one another -- and their surroundings -- and hope that their instincts, survival skills and intestinal fortitude serve them well.
The winners or the survivor will then received $50,000.00 or Php 2,600,000.00.
In connection of the show to this blog , I am wondering how long it takes that can human survive without water? But first let us discuss how water is very important in our body as well as in our daily life.
The Earth is composed of 3/4 water and water is very essential for every living things such as plants, animals, or human beings. For human being, water is the basic needs in life because our body weight is approximately 72 percent water. Our body uses water in all cells, organs, tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. Here are the facts about water:

Human body is almost comprised of 80% of water different body parts required a huge amount of water for proper blood circulation. Like;
• Water composition of human brain is 75%
• Water composition of blood is almost 92%
• Water composition of muscles is almost 75%
• Water composition of bones is almost 22%
How Much Water do you need according to your Weight?
The first step to know how much water to drink everyday is to know your weight. The amount of water a person should drink varies on their weight, which makes sense because the more someone weighs the more water they need to drink. A two hundred pound man and 100 pound woman require different amounts of water every day.
To compute and determine how much water to drink daily, your weight should multiply to 2/3 (or 67%). For example, I weighed 120 pounds so it would be multiple that by 2/3 and I should be drinking about 80 ounces of water every day.
How Much Water Do You Need?
According to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, there's no hard and fast rule to meet their daily hydration requirements by simply drinking water when you are thirsty.
In fact, most people who are in good physical health get enough fluids by drinking water and other beverages when they're thirsty, and also by drinking a beverage with each of their meals, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you're not sure about your hydration level, look at your urine. If it's clear, you're in good shape. If it's dark, you're probably dehydrated.
Conclusion
Hence, water is really important for the human body inorder that all parts of our body can function properly with the approriate water percentage. Everyone knows that human should drink at least 16 glasses of water daily.
According to research, Human can go without food for about three weeks but would typically only last three to four days without water especially in difficult conditions like broiling heat.
There is no reliable predictor of how fast dehydration would kill a person. A person's health, the weather and the individual's physical abilities and activities levels all help determine how long a person will last without water. Older people, children, individuals with chronic diseases, and people who work or exercise outside are at particular risk of dehydration, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Therefore, Naked and Afraid show is a survival of the fittest. The players will survive if they have a survival skills and techniques of finding a clean and safe water in the dangerous area.
