Steemit has been amazing and will always be. We get rewarded while doing what we normally do - sharing how we spend the day with @ulog, share our beautiful photos with @steepshot, enjoy live streaming videos ith @dlive, watch our beloved videos with @dtube and enjoy some fine tunes with @dsound.

While we do all the listed activities to entertain ourselves, we, at the same time get rewarded for sharing them with the community. In a nutshell, Steemit reward us in every aspect of life for just enjoyig ourselves. Many of us have acquired great amount of STEEM and SBD thanks to this priceless platform.
But while we are being rewarded for doing absolutely nothing stressful, have we taken a moment to think about the needy?
There are countless communities that are there just to ensure we earn by being in this platform. If you cannot write STEM posts with @SteemSTEM, and cannot write health posts with @Air-Clinic, and cannot contribute to open source projects with @utopian-io, you would definitely still earn either by joining contests or just writing other posts.
Well, you could do all these because you are privileged to be able to acquire a PC or smartphone with internet subscription. There are countless poor people out there who have the exact talent you are using to acquire Steem and SBD here on Steemit but are just not in the position to join this awesome community.

Let us use from the litlle we are earning through this community to help the poor and needy around us. I have come across some initiatives that are already helping the poor and needy. But I believe this to be a responsibility of all of us together and not just some big initiatives.
How to help the poor and needy around us
There are several ways we can help the less privileged people in our community. You do not need to pick all. Just a few that you find convinient for you. These ways include but not limited to:
- Spearing a little from your food to the hungry people in your surrounding.
- Providing shelter to the homeless (if we are in a position to).
- Helping the uneducated little children with some form of education.
- Talking to people in a calm way.
- Giving hope to the hopeless.
I know some of us might be surprised with this. But we need to understand that helping the needy does not stop at giving some motherless babies food and some wears. In fact, there are lots of people living around us who are in need of something different. Some are in need of someone they can talk to, some are in need of some advices, etc.
