WHY CHILDREN MUST UNDERSTAND TIME DIFFERENCES.

Don't you believe it, they can go to the UK for their big OE, in their 20s, get the idea to do an E.T. and "phone home"
The phone rings, at 1 - 2 am, a groggy hand picks up the receiver and brings it where the ear might be, not too sure where it is, it is dark, and still asleep.
A cultured voice asks "Will you accept a collect call from England?
Ah, What???? , too late, it is connected, and a bright, cheery voice spends the next 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour bringing you up to date with what they have been up to.
2 kids did their big OE, and neither of them thought of time difference, they just wanted to update the oldies [who didn't really mind, but still pull their legs over it now and then when the chance pops up.

Oh that is so funny I did the same to my parents when we were on honeymoon 49 years ago can you believe it. We were in Thailand and we worked it out wrongly.

They didn't REALLY mind, they just make out as if they did.
