Rounding Numbers to Nearest Thousand Worksheets

This post is continuation of rounding numbers for 3rd grade math. In previous two posts we discussed the rounding to nearest ten and hundred. This post contains three worksheets on rounding numbers to nearest thousand.


Again the trick is to underline the thousands digit in the given number and look at its right on hundreds digit. If the hundreds digit is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 then we round down and if the hundreds digit is 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 we round up the underlined digit.

    I suspect that the most useful lesson for kids, would be a math with 8 decimal places, my dear @mathworksheets ;)

    Right my dear friend @lighteye, in grade 6 math kids learn about tenths, hundredths and thousandths and so which are decimal places.

    But @mathworksheets, by the grade 6 majority of kids will have to think about their own ICO's :)
