Why do we not show our children the wonder of the night sky? It is so beautiful and full of the most interesting stars and planets.
This month is very interesting to us all as I found this video to show you how you can follow it and show your children through a normal telescope from the back yard what they can see in the sky from where they live.
Just follow the video and see when and what time this is going to happen in the sky where they live.
As they say in this video it is difficult to identify the different animals that our ancestors saw in the sky but now we can show them the triangle and other forms that they really know from doing maths.
If you can teach your children that the sky is part of our heritage just like nature you might find that they are very interested and find a new hobby for them.
Some children never even think of the stars and there is nothing more thrilling than showing them the different stars. It does take some time for them to understand but the older they are the easier it will become.
We keep showing them animals and other wonderful things here on earth.
Let us teach them to look up and see that there is another part of the earth that they can look at without ever realising how beautiful it is.
There will be a shower on the 22 April and this is all on this very nice video that I am putting in for you.
So sometimes it makes just a change to look in another direction and that could mean that they can learn not to look at everything the same way on earth.
They might realise that sometimes you can change your direction into something else and make more friends with the same interest or inspire them to teach some friends what you as a parent have just shown them in the sky.
You do not even have to leave home; you can do it from your backyard with a very plain telescope.
I really hope you enjoyed this and have a lot of fun with your children.
Thank you for reading.
Greetings from me from the Wild Coast.
Something we grew up with, Dad a telescope (very small one) and a blanket in the back garden on our backs watching the sky.
Dad knew a lot about our southern skies, I did similar with my own boys growing up, now they have an app that will tell the sky above, so interesting to know what you are looking at.
Thanks for the information on 22nd April, if it is clear will take a look. My nightly ritual is to star gaze for twenty minutes or so before retiring to bed.

You are right we should creat interest in them..
Nice sharing Sir

Children's way of stargazing nowadays are relying more on what they see in the internet instead of experiencing these beautiful things in real life. I'm glad you've posted about this. It makes me want to take out my younger cousins to also help them appreciate these things.
