You can do anything - Parents

Have you ever been at a place were you think you're not able to do something. Well this last week has been like that.

Let me start from the beginning. I'm not a public speaker, I love to work in the background. Doing my own thing, minding my own business. Well that's one of the reasons that I believe that God puts a couple together that's totally different. My husband love people and talking in front of a lot of people...he is a pastor.  Okay that said I will support him in all he does and mainly run everything behind the science.

About a year ago God laid on my heart to do something for our congregation woman. If you are a wife, mom or a working woman you will know that some days is just crazy busy and you really get tired and your not always getting something back to recharge you. So that was my main focus to help the woman to get recharge again and feel wanted and to let them realize that they are seen.

So my journey started last year November. Me and 2 friends of mine started praying about what to do and how to do it. Started planning everything and prayed for the best. So the funny part about this is our theme was "Peacock or an Ostrich". If worked out my whole speech and started to prepaire for this event. The 2 days before it was going to happen everything went wrong in my own life. I felt like that ostrich that just wanted to hide my head in the ground and hide so that no one could see me.

Never the less I got up the Saturday morning got ready and went to church. It felt like I was in a dream or someone else body. I was so nerves and started thing "what am I doing, I cant do this. What if I forget my words? or say something stupid". All this went through my head.

At the end of the long day and a wonderful morning I came home. I went to lay down on my bed. My head started going through the whole mornings event and then I realize, I thought I couldn't do this. And yes I can not but I believe with alot of prayer and believe God helped me to face my biggest fear and that is to speak in front of people.

This said I was sitting with my child tonight preparing her speech for Thursday and realized how hard it must be for her, I can improvise and no one will notice it but for an 8 year old if she forgets her words it feels like her whole world is tumbling down. I calmed her after she started to cry and saying she's not going to remember this. The one thing I try to teach her is to stay calm, take a deep breath and open your moth with confidence. And never to forget to pray because that is one of the strongest thing you have to hold on. I told her tonight to look in my eyes. My eyes is telling her the following: " My child I believe in you! You can do this." The more she looked in my eyes, the more confident she became. She started to believe in herself.

This is why we need them and why our children needs us. Just think of how much you will be able to achieve when someone believes in you.
