How to Teach Yourself a New Language

In today's world, dynamics are everything. People travel a lot, people surf the internet a lot, and if you don't know at least 2 languages, you will feel like a kid lost in the mall.

Whatever job you do, it's always beneficial to learn a new language. It expands your knowledge, you have a lot more possibilities to meet new and interesting people and learn about their cultures.

Currently, I'm learning German, and besides all the podcasts that I watch, this app helps me the most.

Duolingo

It brings interactive game-like tests and lessons so that you learn while leveling up! You get the "lingots" and use them to unlock additional lessons (all FREE). If you want ad-free version where you can go trough lessons offline, then you can buy Duolingo Plus, but everything else is completely free(Probably one of the reasons this platform is so popular)!
I definitely reccoment it! I mean, where else can you learn High Valyrian or Klingon?

There are number of other apps for this purpose:

Learning by Talking and Connecting

After you learn some basics of the language - enough to understand basic concepts and sentences - it's best practice to actually start speaking!
The best tip I can give you: Have confidence and don't be afraid, you are here to learn!

There are platforms for chatting with foreign people who can speak to you in the language you're learning and you help them with their language - which is your mother tongue.

Here are some of those apps!

Language Exchange Platforms

  • Speaky

This one is my favourite, I tried it and got a lot of good chats! Be sure to check it out!
  • HelloTalk

  • Tandem

After all of this, just pick a platform that you like the most and START. Being consistent is the key.

introduceyourself tag is not for random posts, it's for 1 post to introduce yourself to all of steemit. Repeated use of this tag is spam and there are plenty of people here that are willing to go and flag all your past posts removing all your rewards for doing this.

So consider this a friendly warning before someone that will just nuke your account runs into your account.

Oh okay, thanks for the note!
