90 years ago, August 11, 1927, Zagreb got it's first regular bus line. At the beginning there were only two lines: from the Academy Square, today's Zrinjevac, to the Sava beach, or through Podsused to Samobor.

There were three gray bus buses on those lines (Lancia), while one year later there were eight bus lines (Opel). All the lines had a starting point on Zrinjevac, except for Jelacic Square for the Upper Town.

Citizens in the first years were not satisfied with the organization of bus transportation, which was in the hands of the private entrepreneur's and so on August 10, 1931, ZET bought 30 buses for 3 million dinars from him and took over the bus traffic in the City of Zagreb.

In those beginnings, bus lines were run independently, without sufficient connection to tram traffic, resulting in a reduction in the number of passengers, and the fleet was varied and discouraged.

Finally, after the Second World War, neglected cars are being repaired and the state of the bus is gradually sorted out.

In the new millennium, the renewal of the fleet continued, the more lines were extended and several new ones were established. When purchasing new buses, ZET has opted for an ecological approach, primarily as a contribution to the development of ecological awareness, but ultimately reducing operating costs.

Today, ZET slanders 410 buses, the average age of nine, operating 142 daily and four night lines, connecting the area of the City of Zagreb, Velika Gorica and Zapresic, and the municipalities of Bistra, Luka, Stupnik and Klinca Sela.
