Hi everyone!

You want to learn German, but you're a bit lazy or busy to flick through dictionaries?

Here is an opportunity that will take the monotony out of your German learning experience:

This is the eighth day on which I'll be teaching you

10 carefully picked words

out of the 3000 most frequently used German words!

Go to the PART 1 of the German vocabulary building series!

At the end of the series, you will have 3000 words in your German vocabulary, and will be able to understand about 80% of the words in any German text.

All daily feeds will contain 10 carefully picked German words, along with:

  • the German article of the words
  • the English translation
  • a link to the pronunciation
  • an example sentence in German and its translation in English
  • if necessary, an image to help you understand the word!

German Core Vocabulary - PART 8 - Tuesday, January 16, 2018

  1. buchstabieren = to spell
    Example: Kannst du bitte deinen Namen buchstabieren?
    Translation: Can you please spell your name?

  2. hinzufügen = to add
    Example: Ich muss meiner Bewerbung diese Dokumente hinzufügen.
    Translation: I need to add these documents to my application.

  3. müssen = must
    Example: Wir müssen unseren Kunden einen perfekten Service bieten.
    Translation: We must provide our customers with a perfect service.

  4. so = such
    Example: Er ist so ein toller Mensch.
    Translation: He is such a great person.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  5. folgen = to follow
    Example: Der Detektiv entschied sich, einer anderen Spur zu folgen.
    Translation: The detective decided to follow another trace.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  6. (der) Akt = act
    Example: Das war ein Akt der Rache.
    Translation: This was an act of revenge.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  7. warum = why
    Example: Warum sagst du das?
    Translation: Why do you say that?

  8. fragen = to ask
    Example: Was fragen Sie genau?
    Translation: What exactly are you asking?
    Go to the pronunciation!

  9. (die) Veränderung = change
    Example: Es gab viele Stimmen für eine Veränderung.
    Translation: There were a lot of votes for a change.

  10. (das) Licht = light
    Example: Ich habe das Licht eingeschaltet.
    Translation: I switched on the light.

It's nice to see, that you are trying to learn others some German vocabulary and I think many will learn a lot from you.

Although I didn't like it a lot in my high school, I know, that it would have been so amazing to know the German language!
