Build Core German Vocabulary for 10 Minutes, Everyday!

Hi everyone!

You want to learn German, but you're a bit lazy or busy to flick through dictionaries?

Here is an opportunity that will take the monotony out of your German learning experience:

This is the second day on which I'll be teaching you

10 carefully picked words

out of the 3000 most frequently used German words!

Go to the PART 1 of the German vocabulary building series!

At the end of the series, you will have 3000 words in your German vocabulary, and will be able to understand about 80% of the words in any German text.

All daily feeds will contain 10 carefully picked German words, along with:

  • the German article of the words
  • the English translation
  • a link to the pronunciation
  • an example sentence in German and its translation in English
  • if necessary, an image to help you understand the word!

German Core Vocabulary - PART 2 - Monday, January 8, 2018

  1. (die) Frau = woman, Mrs.
    Example: Sind Sie eine Frau?
    Translation: Are you a woman?
    Go to the pronunciation!

  2. (die) Stadt = city
    Example: Das ist eine große Stadt.
    Translation: This is a big city.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  3. und = and
    Example: Nur ich und du.
    Translation: Only I and you.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  4. du = you
    Example: Bist du James?
    Translation: Are you James?
    Go to the pronunciation!

  5. hier = here
    Example: Meine Tasche ist hier.
    Translation: My bag is here.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  6. neu = new
    Example: Ist dieses Auto neu?
    Translation: Is this car new?
    Go to the pronunciation!

  7. (der) Tag = day
    Example: Guten Tag!
    Translation: Good day!
    Go to the pronunciation!

  1. (der) Sonntag = Sunday
    Example: Am Sonntag bin ich nicht hier.
    Translation: I am not here on Sunday.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  2. (die) Welt = world
    Example: Das ist der höchste Berg der Welt.
    Translation: This is the highest mountain in the world.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  3. (der) Samstag = Saturday
    Example: Bist du am Samstag frei?
    Translation: Are you free on Saturday?
    Go to the pronunciation!
