In formal education environments, a teacher’s role is to assist students in absorbing information and build knowledge, ideas, skills and values. The learning process includes an attempt to help students to move from the point of not knowing, to knowing. This transferring of knowledge is done by using teaching and learning methods that have been developed with much strategic thought.

These methods are complied in such a way that teachers and students need to form a relationship where each one plays an active role, ensuring that learning takes place successfully. For example, if the learning process is dominated solely by the teacher, then the effectiveness of learning will not be achieved. To create effective learning conditions, teachers are required to be able to manage the learning process in such a way, that the students are also active in transferring and gaining knowledge, and do not simply absorb it in a passive manner.

Understanding Effective Learning

Learning is the process of interaction of learners with educators and learning resources in a learning environment.

In the context of education, an educator teaches learners to master the content of a lesson to achieve a determined objective (cognitive aspect). In essence, the learning process can also affect attitude changes (affective aspects) as well as develop skills (psychomotor aspect). This teaching process however gives the impression that only one person is active in the learning process (the teacher).

A good learning method promotes healthy interaction between teachers and learners. Effective learning is characterized by its emphasis on active student empowerment.

The child has the drive to do something, has his own will and aspirations. [ 3 ]

Thus, it can be concluded that effective learning will train and instil a democratic attitude in the students, creating a fun learning atmosphere as a result. This way, students have an active role in the learning process, which has proven to help them learn the necessary information they need as well as equip them to become adults who can cope with the demands of adulthood.
