As some of you know my son (and husband) are absolutely dinosaur nuts. Since Saturday my son barely has place on his bed because all his dinosaur soft toys (6), his old grandpa smurf (this was my dad's, so Papa Smurf must sleep with him), his monkey that his grandpa gave him and his elephant that his favorite aunt gave him, must sleep with him.

One of those dinosaur soft toys is a...

#Brachiasaurus.

The Brachiasaurus is also known as the arm lizard and are part of the group Sauropods They are one of the tallest and largest dinosaurs. They have a long neck, with a small head and a relatively short, thick tail. The brachiosaurus walk on four legs, but their front legs were longer than their hind legs. You will see that they have a giraffe-like stance with a height of up to 40/50 feet (12-16 m)

The brachiosaurus where about 85 feet long, weighed about 33-88 tons. They had a claw on their first to of each front foot as well as claws on the first three toes of each rear food.

They where interesting animals:
Look at the sketch, can you see where their nostrils are?

AT THE TOP OF THEIR HEADS!!!

Interesting...

This definitely helped them to smell, don't you think?

The Brachiosaurus was a plant eater, a herbivore.

Interesting fact: They didn't chew their food, it was swallowed whole and then digested in the gut.

Look at the next picture:
Can you see how the brachiosaurus relate to other animals.

Their is nothing else to say except:

They where huge!!!

What scientist think?

Scientist think that the brachiosaurus travelled in herds and most likely migrated depending on their food supply. They also think that they most likely hatched from eggs, but they didn't take care of their eggs. Through research they have come to a conclusion that their life span must have been around 100 years.

They think that in comparison to the little brain of the brachiosaurus they wheren't that smart, in fact they think that their intelligence where among the lowest of the dinosaurs.

That just shows that size doesn't matter, what matters is how you use your brain.

My boys grew up loving the dino's, toys and imaginary world took over more times than once. Having visiting the museum in Durban when young seeing the bones allowing their minds to roam.

Love the ideas you put forward for children to make their own @tanyaschutte

Thank you @joanstewart. The Dino expo almost came to visit Namibia, and my son was very sad to hear that they are not coming any more. Will definitely plan a trip down to Durban to see the Dino's

They were certainly huge, but I'm most impressed of how big blue whales are, wow! we still have dinosaurs in our era, that's why we must raise awareness and protect whales from being hunted, very educative article for children, if I had a son they would definitely learn a lot here!

Kids love their favorite games, and always want to sleep beside them, and you are also all your articles amazing and I like ،،، For the first time I know that the nose of the dinosaur has the top of his head، thanks so much for a good information .
Good luck my dear friend @tanyaschutte 👍👍😉, all the best for you 🌹😊😃

Thank you

Wellcome for you 😉

I saw branchiosaurus and came straight here! Love the art and will try it out with my kids

Thank you. Such plain and simple art but the kids will love it

Thank you

Mother…
Hugging you is my comfort
Painting your smile is my wish
Love you is certainly my duty

Sorry but... what does this have to do with mothers? XD

This is lovely. I remember reading about the 'araus' animals in the novel Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. And little boys can go absolutely nuts about them.

Thank you @vanessahampton
