Our purpose is to discover hidden gems and polish them as we mentor and curate their work so that they will produce good quality posts that further enrich the Steemit Community and be a source of pride for Filipinos.
Filipinos have close knit family units. You have your parents and siblings, your grand parents, your endless number of uncles and aunts who would either have Boy or Baby as their nicknames and a whole slew of cousins!
What started out as a few friends and family members have grown so large now and below is an excerpt from a post of our founder, @jon24jon24
Steemit Family Philippines has 382 members on its facebook page and it is still growing. My mision was to spread the word about steemit. To help out my friends and family to get heard and earn. But it has grown to more than just my family and friends.
Three months had past since I started spreading the word about steemit to my friends. Not only did the group expand in Baguio City but also in Ilocos region and other parts of the world such as the Middle East. Out of the 382 members from the group, there are about 150 members that actually joined steemit. The other members are still yet to be part of the steemit community. I believe in giving them time to adapt and learn more about the steemit blockchain. As I said in my first blog about the group, some will take longer than others to adapt.

Before long as more and more people joined we welcomed them and made them feel like our extended family.
So what does it mean when they get featured?
- They get rewarded with 100% vote from @Steemitfamilyph for good quality posts (more delegations coming!)
- They get their post resteemed!
- Members of the @Steemitfamilyph curation team will also reward them with additional upvotes.

Wow, it's cool to find an active PH community here in Steemit. I've only joined 10 days ago. This was recommended by a friend who's not Pinoy and who's not even active in Steemit XD

He advised me to checkout Steemit to learn more about crypto in general. But it's much different from what I first expected. Steemit is fun :)
