Steemit is an unbelievable platform, as we all know. What makes it great is that people get rewarded for creating valuable content or being valuable to the community. For me it is simply some sci-fi stuff. I would have never guessed this kind of thing would ever appear during my lifetime, but it did.
After spending few months learning the ins and outs (far from done learning), I decided to integrate steemit in the educational services we offer, in the start-up I manage. One of the many services we offer, I called @steemlab.
What is fun about @steemlab is that High school and middle school students can enjoy learning about many diversified topics in English while creating content on steemit, earning rewards while interacting with blockchain technology and handling cryptocurrencies and learning about them. All this in a fun setting where there is an exchange of ideas and constant learning and fascination with what the technologies offers. I think that kids need to learn about what is happening in the tech world and practice hands on.
It has been working great the number of participants has been increasing, and some curious fascinated parents are constantly asking how this "magic" works and thinking of registering their kids.
What my wishes are for 2018 is to get the word spread about @steemlab, gaining the support of the community here on steemit, purchase more useful tools for the kids (computers, mics, softwares..) and increasing the number of participants in the lab.
Let us hope that @steemlab becomes a more vibrant place where creation and exchange of ideas is happening for the youth of my city.
