I just saw 'resteemed' happening with some posts; may I please ask what resteemed means?
On the side though, let me ask:
How does me and many get to grow on Steemit? Do we have a slight chance?
Will there ever be equality in 'inanimate Internet' ?
What exactly is the core aim of steemit away from the other social media in existence? Does steemit have a cause?
It's like a retweet on twitter. The author gets promoted because you liked the post (the author gets any money from upvotes)

equality of what? equal opportunity or equal results?

I saw the other commentor answered the resteemed part. It does just add someone else's post onto your blog and hence to any of that persons followers.
On the other questions:
I'll answer the second part first, You absolutely have a chance to grow on Steemit and there are many ways to achieve it, really just depending on your preference..and you don't have to choose just one way to grow. I started here myself essentially knowing nobody, not written anything for at least 10 years, no followers (which we didn't really even have a list or feed for at the time), yet while I'm by no means a whale, I'm proud of what I've done in my two months here and feel quite successful. Bear in mind I'm still learning, adapting, growing and ideally feeling I've achieved even greater success. (This very much is a 'life is a journey, not a destination' sort of scenario in my eyes)
On the first part on how...there are two parts I'll touch on to answer this.
Content and Marketing - I know you're already in the #steemprentice group which is great! The FAQ and some other resources in the pin tab (in the group chat room) do somewhat get into this, but I know it doesn't always provide a clear direction. So catch me in steemit.chat (or any of the other mentors really) and I think it'd be good to get a little one on one time where we can provide very direct suggestions and achievable, actionable goals. If I had more time right atm I'd just do the writeup now, but I'm a bit tied up today.
Connecting with people and building genuine relationships - This is the equivalent of Branding yourself. You sell YOU here; your thoughts, your life, your feelings, etc. People connect to you not only by reading your posts, but how you communicate in the chat room, in comments, even in (up or flag) votes to a degree. The time required to market your posts begins to go down as you build up this 'social web.' When people truly like you as a person, as well as for your content, your name sticks out to them in a crowd.
I'm assuming you mean by this more in the 'centralized wealth/power' side of things, and while I'm no expert, I don't expect everyone to have the same amount of stuff. However, I DO expect to see some of this wealth spread out more over time (still never equal), it's already been happening imo. Then there are those whales and groups like curie/rhw that solely focus on 'spreading some wealth' to minnows. So in brief, I don't expect full equality in these terms, but I do expect a reduction in the wealth gap.
I have to start this with Read the Whitepaper and build up an interpretation of this for yourself, cause I can't say my thoughts on this are the same as everyone elses.
With that said...I view Steemit as an attempt to create a society (by combining communications, social media, an economic systems, etc.) outside of the normal governmental controls, that gets to essentially determine what rules apply (i.e. plagiarism.) The site itself doesn't suddenly make everything better in life, but it can be a tool to use to achieve growth/success not just for the individual but the community as a whole.

Thank you! Helping others is a big part of my life. Since I'm not the one you'll necessarily see volunteering or protesting, I do better in small directed groups or one on one. I'm a believer that helping others comes back around to benefit me in some way...between this and the emotional benefits I receive, I don't consider this to be altruism. :)
Take you're time, there is no rush..I know I left a lot there. Feel free to hit me up personally in the chat channel or DM if there's anything I or the mentor group can do for you. :) My main goal here is just to let other minnows and newer users know that they aren't alone out there and success is possible for those willing to put in the effort.
Keep Smiling and Steem On :D
